hoping for pissed off supes blasting heat vision at zod

I wanna see a heat vision standoff between them. Something like what IM and WM did with their repulsor beams in IM2.

Would you guys prefer a more translucent "heatwave"-esque heat vision a la Superman Returns or more of a red hot laser heat vision? I prefer something closer to the latter.

Depends on its intensity I guess. Slightly translucent for heating or when trying to go unnoticed and then full on Cyclops-blast when in battle-mode.

As much as Smallville got wrong... i think their Heat Vision effect was rather good....wouldn't mind seeing something similar TBH.

I think set images revealed a scene where heat vision was used. In the Daily Planet some of the columns looked clean cut if I am not mistaken.

I vote for laser. But I am so not a fan of the glowing red eyes or Superman being violently angry except on rare occasions.

For low intensity, a SR / Smallville-esque Heat vision.

For High Intensity, a more visible Red laser type heat vision.

sure, Avengers could have been enjoyed by itself as a fun movie. but it was more enjoyable and meaningful to the fans who had watched the prior films and had developed a familiarity with the individual characters and their actors.

That was part of why The Avengers worked so well. I think Whedon did a nice job structuring the movie in a way that people who weren't that familiar with the past five MCU films could still enjoy it and not totally get lost. But on the other hand, he doesn't pander by using a several-minute montage to show the events leading up to the movie.

And for those who've seen the previous MCU films, he pays off on those threads left open. Like Steve recognizing the Tesseract, Thor/Loki's fall-out after the events of Thor, Coulson's BFF status with Pepper and Thor, and Pepper and Tony's closer relationship.

Like I said earlier, it's possible WB could make a solid JL solo film without bothering with several movies' worth of buildup. But you have to get the right director, right approach, and the right script in place. It's tricky, but I think it can be done.

The Superman Returns way did it best I think.Lasers look so cheap.

I get what you're saying, but that really depends on how it's executed and visualized FX-wise. The straight red lines from the Donner-verse look (and sound) silly. It should definitely look more vibrant and intense.

The SR-way looked classy I agree, but when he really lets lose it should just look way more intense visually and occasionally downright scary, like fire or lightning. And people should be all :wow:

At least once.

I don't want Superman to quickly shoot his lasers out of his eyes like a gun the first time. I want to see a good intense build up.

Zod and faora have all superman powers and their better fighters. What build up?Zod will blast him with full force.Superman will not be able to hold back his powers fighting other kryptonians, definately when they can beat him in hand to hand combat.

I think this would be an excellent spot (and maybe the only) for some good old Zack Snyder slo mo

Totally agree with what you said. I also think it would be neat if the heat vision were to vary in intensity. Like if he is needing to be precise, the beam would be skinny/narrow like a needle point, but if he needs to just let loose, then the beam would be wide and cover a much broader area. Hopefully that makes sense.

With all the crap that Zod brings with his forces to Earth, I honestly wonder if there'll be any time to deal with Superman during the early stags of his career targeting some down to earth criminals and crimes, or if his heroics in this film will largely be based upon natural disasters, freak accidents, or Alien invasions.

would love to see red eyes on cavill thought x men did very good job with cyclops special effects wise

Too bad they didn't do as good of a job on his character :argh:
This movie IMO started off the raping of Scott Summers which didn't end until Lubeless in Summer or as the public knows it Avengers vs. X-Men.

:wow: YES PLEASE THANKS! :highfive:

It'll probably be the "Red eyes, things explode" version.

I'd love to be similar to cyclops when he gets pissed.
