im sure if i never saw the comiccon footage id think this was amazing.
..hey maybe when the take him into the interrogation room and he sits down wearing the handcuffs, they offer him coffee or water and he reaches for the glass and accidentally breaks the cuffs... oops!
Do they consider it a poster or just an internet teaser image for fans?
THE POSTER! Did you forget the TDKR poster ruined the whole movie??
The concept is far from subpar, but come on studio heads. The execution is lame. It's not as bad as Thor's, Iron Man's, The Avengers', TDKR's (final), etc but this is nothing to be proud of.
Seriously, as a Graphic Designer, I am ashamed to see weak efforts.
The more i stare, the more I like.
It isn't great though, and i hope the next poster is brighter.
and is this actually a POSTER??
or just an image??
if it's the former then............
if it's the latter then.......meh.
Not important after the 14th.
lol Exactly!!! If that comic con hadn't been leaked i'd be ALL OVER this poster
Some people on here ATM can't seem to even tell the difference...
What's weak and why exactly? Do yo know their strategy? I'm a GD too, so I'm curious.
but this concept is something to save for later... from a marketing stand point at least. IMO.
I am an artist too and this poster is just awfully made. Disappointed that Snyder would chose crap like this as the first theatrical poster...Give me Superman triumphant and flying!
Pretty much agree with you.
I wouldnt doubt that a bit...it's underwhelming to say the least. 5/10.
I don't understand where people made the distinction it is an official poster. Isn't it just a teaser image for internet fans "unlocking" during the TDKR unlock?
As others have noted I like the concept, a very nontraditional way to portray your hero, but the image seems low resolution.
I hope he is not de-powered, that would destroy the whole concept about Superman being chained/jailed by regular humans. It's like in the silver-age story "The Day Superman Broke the Law". He knows that from the opposite point of view maybe he doesn't look as innocent as he is, or maybe he has even done something wrong but without intent. Him not just escaping as fast as he can showcases a lot about the character of Superman his empathy, unselfishness and humility.
...and they called this a reward... for what? Must have been a trifle.
Depends on your angle.
Maybe Batman can interrogate him... start beating him.. and supes just laugh...
wait, joker did that.
Well the poster is certainly evocative, if a little odd. I wish it wasn't so digitized, though. The abs also look a bit funky...although the upper half of the suit looks fantastic! I wish he had the spit curl, though.
And it's pretty hilarious that this is the second official MOS image that hides the crotch area. Are they afraid of the media lambasting the costume for lack of trunks? Or does the design team understand that the solid blue body is a bit monotonous (the gold belt isn't as pronounced as the design needs to be).
It looks like he's wearing a muscle suit in that poster.
Also, what a let-down. It's a grainy, boring still from the Comic Con preview. Superman Returns posters at least got our hopes up. This is just... uninspired.
