how do you know? isnt story the important part of a movie?

Yeah Monsters Inc is loved by many, and even though University doesn't look as great, people will still see it. I know cause I'm one of them.

I really liked the first one, but it's been more than 10 years now, and the new trailer doesnt do a lot for me tbh. If anything I would've rather had a sequel.
There ARE a lot of kids in the world, who is the main target group, so that's something to consider too.
But I dont think MOS is gonna suffer much from it. If people wanna see both in the cinema they'll do it. Money is not an issue here, I think.

I just do I'm getting the same vibe I did from Batman Begins.

Don't get your hopes up too much. During the lead-up to TDKR, I also had the feeling that it was going to be my favourite movie of all time. The indications seemed to be there that Nolan had done it again. After I saw the movie, I tried to convince myself that I loved it when I really didn't even like it that much. As a result, my default position for Man of Steel is to expect the worst. I try to keep reminding myself that it could be a self-important, overly seriously mess with a Superman who keeps randomly slipping into an English accent and over-the-top ridiculous action scenes with excessive use of slow-motion. :cwink:

Nah I'm pretty confident I love origin stories and Superman's is by far the best of the lot :)

On the Dark Knight Rises I wasn't let down because I wasn't expectung much the trailers didn't grip me. Its funny I have the same vibe I did for that with Iron Man 3. Must be 3rd movie syndrome lol

Descartes? Is that you? :wow:

In all seriousness, however, shouldn't the most rational position be one of complete neutrality, rather than one of extreme negativity?

Here are some interesting quick facts about MOS, some are well known, others not so much, I am just reposting these so don't ask for proof.

Believe it or not. :p

What makes MOS special ?

* It is coming out in the year that marks the 75 th anniversary of Superman.
(Suprman created in 1938)

* Amy Adams who plays Lois Lane had appeared in an episode of the TV series "Smallville"
(season one episode 7 -"Carving")

* Her costar in the movie "Enchanted" - James Marsden played the part of Richard White in the movie Superman Returns(2006)

* Cavill was selected to star as Superman in director McG’s 2004 film Superman: Flyby, but the project was abandoned when McG left.

* Cavill missed out Zack Snyder's 300 movie as then he was expecting to get cast as Bond in Casino Royale, the role went to Daniel Craig.

* Dev-Em played by Revard Dufresne had a bit part in Smallville as a Zoner Gladiator.

* Tor-An will be played by Richard Cetrone has worked as a Stuntman in all of Zack Snyder’s live action movies.

* Russell Crowe who Jonathan Kent and Kevin Kostner who is Jor El, both starred in separate Robin Hood movies playing the title character.

* Alessandro Juliani, who plays Sergeant Sedowsky in MOS, played the part of Dr. Emil Hamilton on Smallville.

Yeah, in all seriousness, neutrality is the best way to go. However, going in with a negative opinion can sometimes lead to the extra enjoyment of being pleasantly surprised.

Not sure that's right about Alessandro Juliani been in this

It seems Cavill has a lot of big opportunities swiped from him at the last minute, hopefully MOS will be a huge boost to his career.

His IMDB profile and MOS - IMDB movie page both list him as Sergeant Sedowsky in MOS.

IMDB isn't always the most trustworthy side while films are still in post-production.

Just like Casino Royale was Daniel Craig's shot, this is Cavill. It could be the exact same scenario for Cavill.

Haha, I was like you with Superman Returns. I had been waiting for that movie for 20 years and had been trawling through Superman-V.com for years, so when I was finally getting a new Superman movie I was so excited it blinded me for nearly a year afterwards.
So this time I'm a little bit more reserved and skeptical about it which is probably a good thing because if it becomes the greatest Superman movie ever then I'm sure to have a nerdgasm.
Just curious if the word nerdgasm is classed as vulgar language as it's a really good word when used in context?

Looks like they just copied and pasted somebody's post from this forum from a week ago or so. Although the poster here I don't think mentioned that Smallville's Dr Hamilton is also in MOS. I liked Smallville's Dr Hamilton.

Anyone else ready to see superman smile? Or at least smirk? He looks as gloomy as batman. :p

He looks nowhere near as gloomy as batman, do you see him frowning or yelling? If anything he seems determined to me and somewhat lost but not gloomy.

Dr Emil Hamilton is a character from the Superman comics and not just Smallville.

From the MOS FB page:

Super March Madness! Here's a friendly update: In March more "digital assets" will be forthcoming. The time to go "broader" is approaching and we'll begin seeing more soon. March is close!

I didn't ask for what specific types (images, magazine interviews, posters, combination etc), I said thank you and am sharing the update.

Have a great day/ evening!

It's hard to be "neutral" when you spend time here, having your expectations rearranged every day from news, debates and what not.
