I'm not interested in Pacific Rim it looks like a high budget Power Rangers to me

No, it really is, or is about to start next week. If a new trailer isn't online by the end of next week, the marketing is in lag mode compared to the 3 previous DC films from WB. And it already is lagging compared to another big budget action flick (which comes out a month later) from the same studio/s. Facts be facts. :cwink:

So, you are expecting a new trailer by the end of next week ?

I'm not, I think that they will release a new trailer in the third week of April.

I don't know why but I get the feeling we'll get something April 2nd. I am hoping we get the new trailer soon.

The marketing for this film has been strange its almost like they thing Nolan's name alone will sell this thing. They haven't done things I'd expected i.e. a superbowl spot, a Zod reveal etc and I do worry they're been too over confident with this film. I'm hoping they market it in April like crazy. I think they need too cause they can't rely on just Nolan's name to sell this thing.

Yep; agreed. I have yet to be impressed with the way that they've marketed this film. So far, it seems like they've been marketing film as an average one. Other big blockbusters have really gotten some of the A-List treatment when it comes to their promotion campaigns. I can understand why some say that we sound like a bunch of greedy and impatient people, but is it so wrong to ask that the studio at least give the same treatment to this film's promotion as other studios have been doing

i agree.

-fact is that the new trailer will be with Iron man 3. i have no time to explain why a marvel movie will have a dc trailer and why a dc movie will have a marvel trailer.
-in my opinion t the trailer will go online in th ethird week of april.

if WB has a trailer at wondercon it could change.

Absolutely! Of course, this being WB means you could be right but still too many things fit the early April date.

1. Looking at some of WB's similar movies TDK trailer #3 out on May 4th movie out July 18th. TDKR trailer #3 out on May 1st, movie out on July 20th. GL extended WC trailer out on April 4th, movie out on on June 16th. The Hobbit second full theatrical trailer out on September 19th movie out on December 14th. And so on.

2. Some events WB likes to frequent and bring footage to are in mid-April (MTV movie awards, Cinema-Con)

3. Late April is going to be full on IM3 hype and also SITD push and a debut of other new trailers such as Thor. All this could steal MOS's thunder. There is nothing big enough for the first 2 weeks of the month to do that.

So yeah, early to mid April seems like an ideal time. But again, I wouldn't be surprised if WB did nothing until May. But given the competition, that would prove stupid and risky.

And I have no time to explain why the trailer can be with Iron Man 3 and still debut with 42 or online or whatever. Just like trailer #2 debuted with The Hobbit and is being played in front of Oz and G.I.Joe and other things.

Yeah I do think thats fair. A few months back when people were moaning I do think they were a little impatient but not now. WBs seem abit too over confident and the main reason we aren't happy with the marketing is this is Superman and we know he needs pushing to the moon after the disaster of Superman Returns. WBs got such positive buzz off the first full trailer I wouldn't be shocked if that's the thing that's made them over confident. They should have built on that buzz and not missed oppurtunities like the Superbowl. I am really starting to worry. I just hope they smash it come April and really push this film otherwise I fear a box office disapointment.

you know i go to the movies a lot and i have not seen the man of steel trailer at the movies since the hobbit but iron man 3 has been placed a lot and if they show the new man of steel trailer before 42 would those moviegoers going to watch a drama have any interest in seeing an action packed man of steel movie or better yet would there be enough time to market the film better ? because from what i have seen reminds of the last hulk film from from the release date down to the fact but that an iron man film overshadowed hulk's marketing and it showed at the box office .

You have made some valid points, but the problem is attaching MOS trailer to some movies whose target demographic does not match will defeat the purpose.

I mean, the 42 movie is a biographical film about the life of baseball player Jackie Robinson. how many comic book fans will go to watch it ?

Then, WB should have attached #3 rd MOS trailer with GI: Joe 2, at least it would have reached it's intended audience.

I only said 42 because it's a WB movie. Also, 95% of comic-book fans will go watch MOS anyway, regardless if the trailer is in front of IM3 or not. Oblivion comes out on the 10th of April in many countries around the world and 12th in the UK. Basically it comes out everywhere but USA (19th) and Japan. So they could attach it to that. Or simply, like I already said, it can debut online a bit earlier. With TDKR having footage at MTV movie awards and Cinema-Con last year, I suspect they'll do it for MOS as well. Again, could be wrong but it's what Im hoping. Also a few people (such as some dude from Collider) have been making ´´very very soon`` comments on twitter about MOS's marketing kicking off with a new trailer. Then again, certain other people have been saying character posters since 3 weeks ago (and a certain someone said they'll come this week on his twitter yet again) and nothing came of it so we'll see...

I just realised something weird. All those showings that have had the MOS trailer since it came out, and I haven't seen the Iron Man 3 trailer on the big screen yet.

Seen Pacific Rim once, World War Z a couple of times, Another Earth once... But no Iron Man. Weird.

Anyone else in the UK found that, or is it just my cinema?

I have to agree with G Godfrey. The goal is not to make sure the comic book fans see the trailer. Anyone who is a comic book fan already knows about it and will see it online anyway. And they already want to see the movie. We need bigger numbers then that come June 14. It's those non fans that need to be reached.

And BH/HHH has a good point too. Why should the trailer only show in front of one movie. Why not multiple? I think 42 plus Oblivion and of course a the cb movie IM3 would be the best way to go.

I think the most hopeful thing we can say is what little we have seen of MOS looks worlds better than everything we've seen of IM3 and STID. It's all how you look at it people!

Im pretty sure them's fighting words for a lot of people around these parts :cwink:

I've saw the hobbit and oz and have yet to see the mos trailer on the big screen :(

Man, I haven't either. I saw the 1st one when I went to see Skyfall, all I could think was "This looks pretty clear compared to watching it on my computer." Maybe my screen needs a little scrubbing, lol.

Aw that sucks! I've seen it about 5 times now! (Twice in 3D!) :(

Little question, how dark does it look in 3D, considering the colors are pretty dark already?

I would have demanded a refund...pffft @ dirty screens.

I want to see something fall, something big. Then I want to see Supes catch it before it squashes 10,000 people DT Metropolis.

That's all I want in the next trailer, couldn't care less about anything else. Save the rest for the movie.
