Say that there was a time "prophesied" where the Kryptonians were to become "decadent and slothful", and that the "prince of hope" would restore Krypton's people to a place of enlightenment, reminding them of (to use my own **** from my novel ) "empathy, honor and perseverance". I don't know.

Maybe Kal El rightly births a prophecy of doom into Krypton, not hope? Or perhaps both, paradoxically. A controversial child. The doom belonging to Krypton, the hope belonging to a distant primitive planet called Earth.
