did we get official confirmation that the runtime was exactly 130 minutes, or just around 130 minutes?

also, do those runtimes posted by the cinemas also include the trailers before the movie?

Snyder said "around" or "about" 2 hrs 10 min. So there's probably some leeway there, who knows if they even have the final cut finished? They could still be tinkering with it in editing.

oh, ok.

then I wouldn't be surprised if an extra 5-10 minutes or so are added to that length.

Did you miss who wrote and produced it? Dc and WB all over it. Just because it is bad Superman, doesn't mean it isn't Superman.

So what? I don't care if they got Zombie Siegel and Shuster to make it, it doesn't make it "Superman." You can't take a character, who's primary trait is his strength of...well, character, and turn him into a guy who, even at the end of the series (when he becomes Superman in the dumbest way I could have possibly conceived), is still a whiny, mopey little nothing. Tom Welling's Clark Kent couldn't inspire a ball to roll.

I sometimes wonder how different the show would have been if Jensen Ackles had got the part of Clark.

Thats a lot to just be 'added on' so late. If anything, that can be cut (like an entire scene), but it doesn't fluctuate up that much.

Trust me, 5 minutes is huge so late when you have to get a locked cut unless it's entire scenes like the Return To Krypton in SR. Otherwise, even a minute's difference combined is hard to do at that point. And you almost never get longer that late either.

How did you manage to post this again an hour and a half after you posted it the first time? :funny:

Personally I agree with, "a longer movie does not make a better movie". However, for how good this looks and how long I've waited for THIS Superman movie... 2 hrs and 30 minutes is exactly what I need to make up for 30 years of begging and pleading for Hollywood to bring my kinda Supes to the big screen.

ah, I see.

Snyder said around 2h 10m, so maybe he just didn't know the exact time off the top of his head.

I could happily sit through 3+ hours of this movie. However if Snyder only needed 2:10, more power to him.

A partial video interview from when Henry Cavill was in Japan has been posted on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLlOXAPmAi0&feature=youtu.be

The questions/subtitles are in Japanese, but based on his answers the only two questions asked were along the lines of "How did it feel to get the part" and "How did you bulk up to play the part", or something along those lines.

Not too much, but it's odd to hear his British accent now haha. And they play the John Williams theme in the background. ;)

posting this in here as well.

I think a long run time is needed in a movie that deals with a fairly long origin (spanning nearly 30 years) AND the superhero vs. supervillain plot.

That's a pretty rubbish kids story. What's the point? There's no message.

I was really hoping that kid with a cape was a kid inspired by Superman, not Clark himself. I mean..... what chances you wear a cape as a kid, that basically matches exactly what your Kryptonian Dad left you in a space ship in the Arctic circle.

It's so cool that the Kent dog is a mutt instead of a Labrador or something. It seems like such a Jonathan Kent-ish thing to do.

Plus, Kal-El was one chubby baby.

It may still be a kid inspired by Supes. The picture books may just be using that pic for the accompanying text.

I can't see them going for two and a half hours... not on the first installment. If 2:10 ist he predominant report, it's possible, even likely, that the 2:30 is the state of the movie now, before it's finished being cut.

They're picture books. For little kids.

You're not exactly who the publisher is going for.
Yeah but I remember the books when I was that age and they at least had a lesson to be learnt in them. There was at least a proper 1 2 3 plot.
