Ah yes, RIM. poor, poor, RIM.
RIM was attacked?
Yep, for being disappointed at TASM. They all ganged up on him just over an opinion of what he thought.
Yes, and it was ugly. Fans of certain things like the play the blind man game. Not that they aren't entitled to enjoy something, they just simply decide that any criticism is nitpicking or irrelevant and must be destroyed.
RIM was asked what CBM he would compare ASM to, he said Green Lantern, after that, they just saw red over at the Spider Boards.
And RIM couldnt expain it in detail because He had signed an NDA and the film had not been released yet .
I would LOVE to hear his full review .
TASM was bad, but those early reviewers who didn't like TDKR got it far worse.
Its why he left the boards.
was RIM the one who said that TASM was like smashing his favorite Spider-man toy on the ground??
I remember that, and wondered what happened cuz he said he'd explain later on but never did, I don't think.....
Yeah he was the one who said that, but I think "Green Lantern" was the phrase that sent the TASM boards over the edge. It was sad. A little scary and kinda funny imo, but...sad. I don't think RIM ever returned to the boards after that, which was a shame.
I personally ended up loving TASM, but even now having a high opinion of the film, I wouldn't begrudge him his own disappointment with it. Man were those some dark times, lol.
Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of TASM either (sorta felt what RIM had to say about it), but I do get why others liked it. It wasn't for me.
TASM is the perfect example of trying to do the origin, without wanting to do it. The perfect example of trying to differentiate your reboot by simply darkening things up and adding "different" elements to simply have different elements.
Still like it better then Raimi films, but that is down to the actors.
Attention posters.....DO NOT POST ABOUT HURTING PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY DON'T LIKE MOS...
Yeah, I liked TASM but I thought is was on the same level as Raimi's Spiderman, now that the origin is over, hopefully we can a great TASM 2.
let's just hope MOS provides a more unifying and enjoyable experience.
but, I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hope MOS is a hit with both the critics and the public........as well as posters here on the Hype.
But, but, but... Ya know, irrational things.
I seriously didn't know it came out last night.
It's funny because I've been noticing how much more divisive a lot of the "event" blockbusters have been lately among the fandom. TASM, TDKR, IM3 & STID all seem to have some degree of a "love it or hate it" response about them. I mean, I know all movies will have their detractors, but I feel like it's been quite a while since there was this overwhelming consensus of positivity over a movie like there was with, say TDK in '08. It would be awesome if MoS could have that, but I'm not holding my breath, lol. But I do think it has a really good shot at being generally well-received by both critics and audiences.
I didn't like TASM at all as a film and think it betrays everything I like about Spider-Man. Read Devin Faraci's review on Badass Digest to see 90% of my thoughts about the film. I'd rather watch GL a million times over than ever see that film again. I'll stick to the Raimi films thankyou very much.
When do you guys think that the actors will start going on talk shows?
I can imagine most of our veteran Superman posters will keep themselves in check, but not some of the newbies that are starting to pop up...
The Avengers. It played it safe and thus was almost fanboy proof.
Two weeks out seems to be the norm these days, so the beginning of June. You do the New York side and the LA side in opposing weeks.
That sounds about right. I find Adams and Cavill to be charming interviewee's so I'll be watching.
I guess that one would qualify, but I feel like the detractors on it are at least lot more vocal than the ones in '08 were.
Might be onto something with Skyfall, even if it seems like a lot of people felt like Casino Royale was better (not me, for the record).
