So Martha working at Sears....is she still a farmer in this version I wonder or...?

Maybe when Pa Kent
died (or so I assume)
she had to take a job since she couldn't work at the farm? (especially with her age + physicality)

Just saw this on the Box Office Forums - the tracking numbers for "Man of Steel" have been revised harshly downward by BTC. The numbers were 125 last week, and this week they are 90 Million opening. If the number holds, that would be disappointing.

Disappointing? Nope, still great since very few movies get that (STID didn't), this is far more important:

Between a small handful of very good, very early reviews and a strong marketing campaign, Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel has been getting pretty great buzz for some time now. And as the release date creeps closer, the positive word-of-mouth is only getting louder.

While there aren’t any official reviews up yet, a vague but promising consensus so far is that Man of Steel is an action-packed epic worthy of the world’s most iconic superhero. That’s no small feat.

If JL is announced for release in 2015 at Comic-Con, casting can commence later this year while filming also starts next year. Since Snyder(if he directs) works on the special effects as he goes along, his post production time doesn't take as long. A script could have already been completed behind the scenes, or even still being worked on by someone like Goyer. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I'm just going by mere rumors. Then the movie can make winter 2015 (or summer 2015, but I'd rather winter). But I won't discuss that any further, because it's going in circles.

Now for your bolded:

Because I don't care if most people here disagree with me. I have an optimistic perception regarding a JL movie, while most have a pessimistic perception. Just because some here say that it would come out "half-assed", doesn't make it so. No one here has any more validity than the next poster, so I don't lose sleep over it. If JL doesn't come out in 2015, okay. I'll still be looking forward to whatever WB/DC has planned. However, if it does, I get the feeling some posters here would be angered.

I can understand, and hell, even respect your belief system, especially with how you won’t allow yourself to be wavered as much as some folks would be just from hearing any piece of information.

And while I don’t speak for others, I think I can say that some of us here, when we say that we won’t think it’s feasible for MOS to come out, we’re not just saying that because that’s what we initially think. We’re saying that based off of what we perceive to be logical within the filmmaking industry and how it works.

And truth be told, I think we’ve had more people involved with the entertainment world that have said that a Justice League film isn’t ready as opposed to the ones that have said otherwise. Also, Snyder doesn’t seem to be interested in directing a JLA film since he feels like (at least, he’s coming off this way in his interviews) there needs to be more Superman films before get ensemble ones. Hell, I read on how the Avengers was pushed back from its original 2011 release date to an 2012 one when Jackson and Scarlett officially signed on to portray their respective roles, and we had reports about Joss’s potential involvement with the project back in April 2010, along with there having been a draft for the film way before the July 2010 comic con came about.

So far, we’ve heard only things like how the previous draft or script was shot down earlier this year due to it having several issues, we still have no word on directors even being searched or talked with regarding directing a JLA film, and we even had Snyder said that he thinks its kind of off for people to think that JLA film will be made so soon and he didn’t come off saying that as though it were his opinion but more as an fact.

But yeah, that’s my take on it and my apologies to everyone else for bringing this up again since I can’t control my urge to respond to posts about the JLA being a potential 2015 film.lol

And what's wrong with that? Have you seen MOS so you could form a basis of comparison?

Did I ever say something was wrong with it? I said it was her opinion.

And I'll be seeing MOS tomorrow, so I'll form a basis of comparison then.

I said I feel over 100mil can happen now and I'm sticking to it. I thinking 103-105mil right now.
I want to say that 103 was the tracking # that was reported to some bo people at boxoffice.com last week.

Again, if it makes over 90, (if it's good enough) it will make close to 275 million and 600 worldwide ... enough to build a new DC universe.

The REALLY big #s will come down the road for sequels if this is well received.

My take on how the movie will unfold. Would advise people who don't like to be spoiled to not click :yay:

Things I left out. Faora is definitely present during the Battle of Metropolis. She attacks the C-17 which Col. Nathan Hardy is flying and has Lois aboard as well (Which is why she wears a jump suit at the climax) Not too sure and how Superman defeats 5 Kryptonians. Tor-An is the who flies the Black Zero gunship which is seen crashing through buildings and we know they aren't as powerful as Kal-El because he has more stored solar energy. Definitely they have to perish through Black Zero because I can't see Superman killing them when the theme of the movie is Hope.

The fact is reboots don't open to near record numbers. I see a little over 100mil but I just do not see The Hunger Games, TDK, TDKR's or Iron Man 3 style numbers happening no matter how good the reviews are. It's just something that doesn't happen.

For those that DON'T see this reboot, their loss~!

:funny:

Honestly my expectations for a JL movie in 2015 have been constantly dwindling, so I'm prepared for some slight disappointment.

At this point I just want a good CBM from WB. Not name Batman of course. Hopefully MOS delivers and continues to deliver!

$90-100 million would put MoS on par with the original Iron Man. There are worse ways to start a new franchise.

I never believed MOS would have a 125 million OW. My best guess is that OW will be 100-105 million, but I really think it will all depend on the quality of the film. WOM is so important to a damaged franchise like Superman and WOM is even important OW. If MOS is as good as we have been led to believe then it should easily be powered to a 100 million by Sunday night with everybody telling their friends and family that it is a must see. If the general public only views MOS as mediocre then it will be lucky to get 90 million that first weekend. Also, MOS needs a second week drop off of less than 60% to really be the success we want it to be. A steeper drop off than that would signal that it is not resonating with the public.

Absolutely. That's not bad at all. The most important thing is that the general audience likes the film.

BTW: I think some on here should stop judging the reviewers reviews as none of us has seen the movie yet. I also think that we should keep are expectations on the film's quality at a realistic level. It's just a movie, it's not going to cure cancer and AIDS.

I foresee this becoming an indelible part of the Superman mythos. One of the most pivotal moments in the birth of Superman, Ma Kent working at Sears. :oldrazz:
