Great! Text or call me when you get to Edwards, so I can let you know where I am in line. Although knowing me, I'll probably text you before then because I'll be so excited. :woot:

Yep! Like Jank said, of course we'll be staying through the credits.

From what I have heard, the preview screenings have had no post-credits scene. If there is one, the first we will see of it will be on the 10th most likely.

But it doesn't hurt to check :cwink:

I'm surprised everyone isn't dying from peptic ulcers at this point.

The one Twitter guy sounds like one of those super hardcore fans that doesn't like certain changes to a character. Similar to the response to Watchmen.

I'm not even going to entertain the thought of 3 and 4 but its kind of funny saying 30 years when it only encompasses one movie. For the record I'm on the pro side of Returns.

He later clarified his statement by saying that he meant that MOS is the best Superman film since SM II in 1981.

I'm curious on how he'd rank it against the likes of S:TM to begin with.

Boy that's not saying much is it ... makes it seem like damning with faint praise.

I mean general consensus, Superman III ... sucks Superman IV ... pathetic ... Superman Returns ... boring.

As much as I enjoy Superman 2, I find it hard to believe MoS won't be better than it. My god, the trailers alone are better than it :cwink:

That's just bull-****. It hurts just reading that!:csad: Superman 2! W_T_F! MOS needs to be at least as good as batman begins, and TONS better in every area than that of Superman 1! Anything less will be a ****ing failure! Comparing it to Supes-2 frightens me. And that should frighten Us all.

Over dramatic much? chill out dude, it's just some guys opinion I've never heard of.

Like I said he seems like a guy who is more traditional in his fandom. It would be like me saying Batman Returns > TDK just because for some reason I loved Batman Returns as a kid and couldn't let it go.

Eh, it's the nostalgia ... everything from that time period (since it's the first films and has CR) was the best ... of course, if you sat down the vast majority of people who will see MOS ... they'd find those films slow and boring. It's just the way things work.

Everyone has an opinion though ... I'll wait until I see it.

Has it really gotten so bad that an 8/10 is considered negative to some people? I don't get it.

It shouldn't be ... I mean, something like Iron Man 3 has an 'average rating' of 6.8 or 6.9. Even TDKR is only 8.0 ... so 8/10 is fine.

Well, I think I am of the same mindset as him in that I loved the first two Superman movies (Never understood the hate for SM II; it was considered the superior one when it came out in 1981 but whatever :o). And I thought SM III, SM IV, and SR were lackluster to say the least :cmad:. So, yeah I know what he is saying in that even though he thinks MOS is not perfect it is still a solid 8 and an awful lot of fun and after 30 years of disappointing SM films it is good to finally enjoy Superman on the silver screen again. :yay:

Not sure if trolling or really over-dramatic. I actually prefer Superman II over Superman: The Movie, but that doesn't mean the latter sucks. Both films are in my top 10 favorite CBMs of all time.

somebody needs to slap half the internet population upside the head and remind them that 6-10 are varying degrees of good (6 being rather mediocre but still ok), rather than just 9 and 10

They're both very good films ... I prefer the 1st due to the origin aspect which worked well ... but having Zod in the second film was a better 'villain'.

Aspects this has working for it ... no Lex Luthor land schemes ... and Superman punching people.

Can you even compare the original superman to anything that comes out in today's day and age? What are you comparing?

It is like comparing any of the Dark Knight Trilogy to the Adam West Batman movie in 66

And no memory wiping kisses, and giant cellophane S shields flattening the villain :oldrazz:

I seriously hope that tomorrow's viewings for our two members will help clear up some crazy rumors and speculations going around for the film.

Honestly, this is probably going to sound bizarre to some of you but I'm actually hoping for something in the 8/10 range. Something that is very good bordering on great, leaving some for improvement for the sequel. To me that's part of the excitement of franchise filmmaking. If Snyder comes out the gate with a unanimous 10/10 masterpiece then the bar will be set ridiculously high and the chances of the sequel disappointing will increase massively. Granted, I obviously won't be upset if this movie truly blows me away and I consider it a masterpiece, but I'm not going to go into the movie expecting that because I think it's just unfair to expect that.

And in fact I'm kind of expecting something in that 8/10ish range is simply because it's an origin film and we've seen so many of them now. The movie might have a degree of predictability to it. At the same time, its strength is in being an origin movie too because it will present Superman in a new light and allow some people to fall in love with the character all over again, while others fall in love with him for the first time.

I might have been a little harsh in my statement there. I like superman 2 also, for nostalgic reasons. It's a part of my childhood. But come_ON! Comparing MOS to Supes-2, saying that it's the best since the 80's half camp film??? Are we serious here? Nostalgic or not. MOS must at least be of the same caliber as Begins. Forget all about Superman 2. This is just ridiculous.
