Agreed. There is way too much concern in here about what critics think.I'll be happy if I like it.

I went back on Rotten Tomatoes and skimmed a lot of the reviews and the fact is a lot of critics loved Superman Returns, most of it's reviews were down right raves. A lot of the reviews that were counted as negative were mixed slightly positive. I was surprised how positive the actual reviews were to be honest. And yet the reception was still mixed for it in the general public and in fanboy land.
I bet you that the most import thing to Warners is that millions of Eggyman's and I SEE SPIDEY's go see it and love it, not critics who don't even pay to see the film.
I just don't see it.![]()
Am I the only one who sees a Clint Eastwood resemblance in Henry's expression here?

Semi off topic. Scott Grimes(American Dad, ER, Critters) was on the Tonight Show last night
He performed the star spangled banner like he was in a bad stadium. It was hilarious.
Anyone think he'd make a good Jimmy Olsen?
I watched Superman Returns again last night...
I still like it.

I think that it's painfully mediocre. Suffers from a very poor villian, unlikable characters and no real climax.I was going through those reviews yesterday, too and noticed the same thing. My wife and I actually watched it yesterday and what she said to me afterwards sums up my feelings: "I don't understand why some of our friends say this is a terrible movie. It's not, but it's also not the greatest film or anything, but it's pretty good."
Unfortunately, an opinion of "pretty good" doesn't usually go that far.
