Just bought my IMAX tickets for next Sunday... man, it's already almost sold-out... and this despite not having much of any promo here... this show is gonna be huge (at least opening), and if it's proven good, will be breaking some records once WOM goes out...

Agreed. There is way too much concern in here about what critics think.

I went back on Rotten Tomatoes and skimmed a lot of the reviews and the fact is a lot of critics loved Superman Returns, most of it's reviews were down right raves. A lot of the reviews that were counted as negative were mixed slightly positive. I was surprised how positive the actual reviews were to be honest. And yet the reception was still mixed for it in the general public and in fanboy land.

I bet you that the most import thing to Warners is that millions of Eggyman's and I SEE SPIDEY's go see it and love it, not critics who don't even pay to see the film.

Am I the only one who sees a Clint Eastwood resemblance in Henry's expression here?

    That's brilliant ^^

Really gives you a very realistic feel that there's an actual alien invasion going on, and people are terrified.

Just wanted to say I was driving from Culver City to the Hollywood Bowl last night and saw at least 10+ advertisements for Man Of Steel. Bus stops and billboards. And on the way back I saw a few more.

Just watch, this last week of wait, I have a feeling the marketing is gonna go to 11.

I was going through those reviews yesterday, too and noticed the same thing. My wife and I actually watched it yesterday and what she said to me afterwards sums up my feelings: "I don't understand why some of our friends say this is a terrible movie. It's not, but it's also not the greatest film or anything, but it's pretty good."

Unfortunately, an opinion of "pretty good" doesn't usually go that far.

I see it in his chiseled features but not necessarily his expression...Hugh Jackman has always reminded me of Eastwood.

On second thought, I think it may be Cavill's eyes and brow that may look a bit like Eastwood when making certain expressions.

Semi off topic. Scott Grimes(American Dad, ER, Critters) was on the Tonight Show last night

He performed the star spangled banner like he was in a bad stadium. It was hilarious.

Anyone think he'd make a good Jimmy Olsen?

That plane sequence is my favourite moment in a film ever so far, although I have my problems with it and I have to be in the mood to watch it, I do still like it.

I think that it's painfully mediocre. Suffers from a very poor villian, unlikable characters and no real climax.
