Maybe WB should have had a cameo of bruce wayne in this or something. That would really have created some positive buzz.
oh well. 3 hours to go and I will decide for myself how MoS is..

He kills [blackout]Zod just as Zod's heat vision turns a whole family into ash right in front of his eyes. His hesitation to kill Zod caused the family to die.[/blackout] So directly responsible for 5 deaths if I remember correctly.

really? I thought
he killed Zod right before he could kill the family...I don't remember that family dying...

Does Clark wear glasses in the film? How is it done? It sounds like Louis knows that Clark is Kal-El in this film already (is that true, too?).

[BLACKOUT]It's in the last scene in the movie when he starts working at the DP.

Yes, Lois and many other people know Clark Kent is Superman by the end of the movie[/BLACKOUT]

People criticize MOS for being a summer blockbuster with lots of action and not much plot (alien invasion, superman protects earth).

But Avengers was a summer blockbuster with more action and a simple plot as well (alien invasion, avengers protects earth).

Broccoli and lettuce are both green vegetables so they have to taste the same right?

Bruce Wayne was busy salmon fishing in the Yemen (as elmayimbe said back then :hehe:). :o

I know, I know... 'Don't worry about what strangers say' ... But come on... a 57% right now is pretty damn disappointing.

Of course it is disappointing. I think everyone was hoping this would be a universally loved and acclaimed movie. But we also have to accept that no movie can please everyone.

Also, the RT measurement is binary but these reviews are not. Most of the "negative" reviews I've read are pretty middle of the road. I would much rather RT make their scale based on an actual score rather than a yay or nay. That's how Critics Choice works and the film is averaging 84/100.

Damn autocorrect.

Thanks. Sounds good. Do we get that reveal as [BLACKOUT]the elevator doors close, like we've heard?[/BLACKOUT]

That would be a cool shot.

"Man of Steel is just the same old same old."

"Man of Steel starts feeling like just another generic superhero movie."

...

"Man of Steel makes you happy and excited to be a Superman fan again. It is indeed the Superman film you've long wanted."

"I could spend page after page talking about what I love about Man of Steel."

Damn autocorrect.

Not really, no. [BLACKOUT]What's shown in the trailers is all the footage of the elevator scene. It goes on after that.[/BLACKOUT]

The different is MOS is telling a story... while Avengers are doing a lot of the self hero promoting stuffs, u know saving the civilians.. civillians expressing thank you n tell the worlds world they r true heroes... this kinda stuffs go really well with the audiences as well as critics.

Too bad MOS didnt do that.

No they are not the same. I know why Avengers got better reviews due to the cast, directors, acting abilities, film pacing/execution, so many other variables etc.

I just dont get why after reading some of the rotton reviews, they are suddenly against action fest summer blockbuster movies.

If I like MOS as much as the Avengers(which I loved) I'll be fine.

I have yet to see any critics say that they are suddenly against action fest summer blockbuster movies leading up to or because of Man of Steel.

Is is really, really, that hard to believe that the movie doesn't hold up to critical analysis?

so watchmen and 300 went over better with critics at RT(Watchmen= 64%,300 = 60%) with mos rating now at 57% wtf is that crap and i loved both those films but i understand why people didn't mos i am not seeing why critics hate it

Personally I thought some of the action scenes were better in MOS than the Avengers. Although it could have been better if the cgi was improved in some shots. Cant wait to see MOS again this weekend.

Can people who have seen both Into Darkness and Man of Steel help me out here?

I don't see many films per year. MOS and STID are the only two on my list for this year so far. I can't begin to express how disappointed I was with STID, yet it has an 87% on RT and many people & critics loved it. Why is MOS being considered so much worse, in their opinions, compared to Star Trek?

I've hedged all my bets for an enjoyable movie experience this year on MOS and now the reviews have me a bit nervous. I'm still hopeful, but if it's a flop, I'll probably be giving up on Hollywood for the foreseeable future!
