Glad to here Travers liked the movie.
Haha, cool. I'm in Newark, I bet you're going to Union LandingCool.
I'm not going tonight but have fun![]()

Kevin Smith's lengthy Man of Steel review goes up tonight on one of his podcasts, for those of you interested.
I thought Kevin had nothing but praise for it (even saw it three, or four, times opening weekend) and it was some one else the podcast that tore it apart (although the guy clearly misunderstood quite a bit about the movie). He pretty much murdered TDKR last year. This should be interesting.

Beat for beat ?Beat for beat remake, with a half the character and spirit.
A for effort imo.

What? I thought he loved it?
Is that the one by the Fremont hub? I haven't gone there yet but I hear it's nice.Actually I'll be visiting the new one at Pacific Commons! Going all out in XD and Dolby Atmos![]()
Pic, please...im in the theater. big crowd for the wal mart screening. surprised.
t:Yeah, I remember being confused by some of Ralph's issues, but I don't recall Kevin ever tearing it apart himself. He done one initial podcast where he said it was awesome but had some flaws.
He then done another with Ralph Garman who hated it. They done a podcast and pretty much tore it to pieces. Problem was, some of their issues didn't make sense. (reason for 8 year gap etc etc..)

Beat for beat ?
In S:TM om SMII I dont recall Superman jouneying to Krypton to see if anbody survived or the Kryptonite continent,
or Lois getting engaged to Perry Whites Nephew .
In which of the two Donner movies did Lois have a kid ?
While its Pedigree was steeped in the Donner films, SR was not a remake .
One thing I do recall is Ralph claiming that Bruce gave up Batman because of Rachel's death, and yeah, Kevin did go with it.He seemed to just go with it. Surprised me really cause Ralph did point out issues that contradicted Smith's initial review and I thought Smith would stick up for it a little.

Hrmm, I don't recall anyone journeying to Krypton in the theatrical cut of Superman Returns either.
More seriously, you misunderstand what beat for beat means. He's not talking about exact plot points but general structure and emotional beats. While Marvin is overstating his point, he is right that Superman Returns tried to copy the general outline and formula of STM with mixed success.[/QUOTE.
Wasnt thinking of it in an emotional context.
Point taken.
Sorry about that Marvin.
My Local Film critic on channel 7 just highly praised MOS,
He was highly complimentary of all of the performances , He also said there humor in between all of the action.
One interesting thing.
He said he thought it ended 4 times.
I guess that refers to all those action scenes in the latter half of the film.
