I still don't understand how some people can say that this is like a transformers film, but with a "little more heart".

I mean, not once do I remember any of the transformers film having any good or solid acting from any of its cast members, let alone an memorable score, or even moments that got people as emotional as they did for MOS.

Agreed on all of this except the score. I still hum the Autobot theme and the theme played when the rest of the Autobots landed to this day. I remember here on the boards people were coming up with their own renditions of the score when it wasn't available to by. There was great rejoicing the day that fan demand brought about the release of the official soundtrack.

No, the movie has no soul :whatever: :lmao:

Hey, not everyone may relate to it but having been adopted with a similar backstory to Superman this is the film that has effected me the most. I'm not expecting everyone to agree, but for me those scenes really stood out to me.

Fewer people will think that MOS is superior if the sequel is a more well-rounded film. HOWEVER, I think that MOS has a similar reception to TDKR rather than Begins. I think the next film will actually be more like Begins in tone, and the third will be like the Dark Knight in terms of construction-only more comic bookish. 2016/17 can't be soon enough!

You said it, friend. Wanting a good film is giving me patience, but every time I reflect on my experience with MOS and its ending, I cannot wait to see what's next. That's why I need there to be a director's cut. Give me something new to chew on while I wait, even if it's new stuff from a film I've already seen.

the Transformers movies had dogs humping dogs, robots humping female legs, giant wrecking ball testicles, and sex object female leads........

y'know......."fun" stuff........:o

I treat the Transformers movies like I treat my experience with GL. I enjoy them for what they are, but I don't tell people about it...except for now, I guess.

I actually liked the 1st Transformers.

the 2nd is the one that had the most crude stuff, and that was kind of a turn off.

then the 3rd kind of toned the crude stuff down, so it was more enjoyable........

and now they're making 4.........whoopee......

Honestly, if they play their cards right with a lot of other things, this whole potential outline of Clark's journey involving him evolving into the Superman that people will recognize and adore will be heightened if all of the trials that he's faced till then leads into him also becoming the leader of Earth's heroes and becoming that symbol of hope that heroism is still prevalent within society, etc.

I wonder if Cavill got to keep a costume. I imagine they made many. I'd wear it 24/7 such a badass looking suit IMO probably my favourite of all the CBMs.

I'm very interested to see just how Cavill plays his DP Clark persona.

will he be bumbling??

quiet and unassuming??

Well lightning once struck with the TDK trilogy, so it could entirely strike again in the future.:oldrazz:

^ No, I was laughing at the idea of the film being THOUGHT of as soulless. Some moments didn't work, but I think the core of the film is emotionally warm. You want Clark to find a place in this world, you want him to have a strong relationship with his family, you want him to "come out of his shell." And if you don't, maybe the problem isn't with the movie ;)

I like Cavill. I hope he doesn't get into the fame hole where Routh fell.

Seeing those pics of Cavill reminds me of my wife at the movies. The moment he came out of the water to find clothes, no shirt on, she quite loudly yelled "Damn!" right before putting an arm around me and saying, "Sorry, hon." My response was, "No worries, I was thinking the same thing," only it was a dream to ever be that big and manly.

oh, you don't have to worry about that!! :cwink:

Awesome. I rewatched Superman 1 and 2, and then Superman Returns over the last few days, and really, I'd forgotten how clunky they are.
I watched the Donner cut of 2, and couldn't believe they used the time reversal gimmick at the end of that one as well. I don't recall that being in the original version. At least the cellophane S shield was gone though haha
