I love the action in Man of Steel, but the story and fun isnt their to support it. Among other things.

I thought the story supported the action plenty. In Transformers 2 I was bored out of my mind and just wanted the action to end, because I wasn't invested in anything. In MOS, the story had me hooked, and I actually loved every second of the action because of it.

I mean you can argue there is a lot of it, but it does serve the purpose to further along the story and it does make sense. Hell, Antje Traue wouldn't have accepted to be a part of the movie if it didn't. Amirite? No? Okay. :) :p

Agreed; I mean I know that it may not have been the most perfectly told Story, but I (apparently a lot more people) thought it was still an engaging story and if it wasn't, then I doubt that we would have as much praising on how many great emotional moments the film had along with how we thought it presented a compelling arc for Superman overall, something that no Transformer film can say about itself.

Honestly, I think Bay is a competent filmmaker, I mean he knows how to make a film, but he doesn't know what the hell an good story is and even though Snyder may not be the best at that department, he still is leagues above Bay when it comes to understanding and appreciating characters and at least attempts to make a good movie with substance.

The one scene with Jonathan looking at young Clark with the cape was more emotional than anything in Transformers. I don't get any comparison with Transformers.

I'll always give credit to Bay for the way he directs action. I actually do love his, sometimes, very practical way of filming them even if they get too excessive.

Indeed; and he does know on how to direct some of the best "reaction montages" when it comes to capturing a large scale reaction from humanity when some looming threat is nearby.

In any case, I do hope that they bring someone on board to help with the script for MOS 2, let alone Justice League, and that we're able to get a great trilogy featuring Cavil and Adams in their respective roles.

I had an emotional moment in Transformers history but it was rather quick. When Sam is trying to get his parents to go with Bumblebee in the end of ROTF. I really liked that moment but was probably the highest emotional moment for any of the human characters in the trilogy. I'd say that was very well done.
