Yeah its fantastic, when I first read it I wasn't that keen on book 1 but book 2 blew me away but when I reread it I loved the whole thing.

The animated movie based on it is fantastic aswell, unfortunately they had to leave things out because of budget and time constraints but its still brilliant.

Yeah I still haven't finished the animated version just because I was enjoying it a lot and I had heard through the grapevine that the comic was even better.

So I sort of had to read the graphic novel before finishing the animated adaptation.

Great to see its a good read. I got caught up reading Knightfall: Broken Bat tonight but tomorrow morning I'll start reading All Star with a clear head.

Yeah its probably better to read the comic first cause you then can kind of fill in the blanks for the movie. The comic is better but there's always a budget for an animated film.

I couldn't put it down when I got into it.

Just saw the new TV spot for Sucker Punch during an NCAA Tourney game.

Great spot!

Just read The Death Of Superman graphic novel and I was highly disappointed. I have always wanted Doomsday to be a villain in the movies but hopefully, if he ever is, they will bring him to life better then in TDOS.

No. While S&S would own the rights to Superman, DC still owns copyrights on most of the character and most of the characters aspects. These include:

The Kents
Smallville
Lex Luthor & most villains.
Kryptonite
Flight
Vision Powers
The "Aura" Invincibility power
Jimmy Olsen?
The current Superman costume
Krypton
Perry White
Lois LANE

The only real inhibition is that the name Clark Kent might not be available along with Kal-El and Jor-El. The film also couldn't have the name "Superman" in the title, but as WB still owns copyrights on the name it can be used throughout the film, it may be the same situation for Clark Kent Jor-El and Kal-El too, though I'm not sure. OR the S&S can just give DC the rights to all of Superman at a hefty price and get royalties for the rest of their lives. TBH it wouldn't be too crazy if WB just said "Nah, keep it, your alright, we can still republish old Superman stories and produce more as long as Superman is not in the title, whereas you can have a backwards super hero that is weakly powered even by Batman standards.

Right now the rights showing Superman as baby being sent away before Kryptan exploded, the actual Kryptan explosion, and landing and being found on earth Warner brothers no longer has rights to which Is why this film will probally beguin with a teenage Clark Kent or Clark as young man.

Come 2013 the rights to Superman,Clark Kent,Lois Lane, the Superman-Lois-Clark triangle, and Clark and Lois working at newspaper for a gruff editor goes to the Siegel family and the Shuster estate. However most of Superman's powers except super strength and leaping Warner brothers keeps rights as well as his present uniform. The Daily Planet and Perry White character would
remain with Warner brothers. All the villians,Kryptnate, and Jimmy Olsen would remain with Warner brothers. Many other elements Including the names Jonathan and Martha Kent would remain with Warner brothers. So If the Siegel family and Shuster estate doesn't make deal with Warner Brothers they don't have rights to much expect what was established at very begining.

I thought Snyder said they are working on the film without any rights limitations?

Didn't know Henry Cavill was going to be at Wonder Con.

Should I buy tickets. It would be relatively cheap.

Hmm.

Good that Mortensen drop out of Snow White and the Huntsman. Hopefully everything works out between him and WB.

I saw that...It would be great if they snag him.

I live in Chicago so I definitely plan on stalking the Superman production when it reaches Plano, Illinois later this year.

I just found this on a website, cant be sure if its legit or not

Superman villains are Brainiac, Lex Luthor and Bruno Manheim. Lex and Bruno in like the first act and mid way through the second which is when Brainiac arrives to Earth and causes hell. Brainiac destroyed Krypton (Superman's homeworld) and offers him knowledge of his origin and that says he has saved a part of Krypton, with Kandor. General Sam Lane leads Earth's human defence against Brainiac unsure of Superman's intentions but everybody soon comes to love Superman after he defeats Brainiac in a battle in Metropolis. Brainiac survives and uses Lex Luthor and LexCorp to rebuild himself a new stronger body and re-engages Superman in an epic battle for the Earth. and "lionel" also has given me a list of characters in the movie of significant importance:

Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman (Alien who crash landed on Earth, grew up to realise that his super powers should be shared with the world)
Brainiac (Alien android from the planet Colu built to collect information. went on to destroying numerous planets including Krypton, Superman's homeworld)
Lois Lane (Sluggish reporter for the Daily Planet, the arrival of Superman changes Lois' fortunes for the better)
Lex Luthor (Multi billionaire owner of LexCorp, a conglomerate company that has illegal connections that help the company grow)
Mercy Graves (Personal Assistant and bodyguard to Lex Luthor, she is fiercely loyal)
Bruno Manheim (Leader of Intergang, a criminal organization funded by Lex Luthor to help his company)
General Sam Lane (4 star General who leads the USA's attack on the hostile alien android Brainiac)
Jonathan Kent (The adoptive father of Superman who lives in Smallville, KA)
Martha Kent (The adoptive mother of Superman who lives in Smallville, KA)
Jimmy Olsen (A low level photographer for the Daily Planet who's fortune changes after becoming the first photographer of the alien Superman)
Perry White (Editor in Chief of the Daily Planet who pushes his reporters to get the best stories out there)
John Corben (Top reporter for the Daily Planet who has connections with Lex Luthor who keeps his public image clean)
Cat Grant (Showbiz reporter for the Daily Planet and arch rival of Lois Lane, whom she graduate college with).

Some of it sounds very very similar to Secret Origins and Superman the Animated Series (especially that bit about
Brainiac rebuidling his body at Lexcorp
). If it is true sounds bloody awesome.

Where did you get this?

Which website?

This would make sense, since these were the initial reports regarding the story of Braniac being involved as well as Intergang being tied to Luthor.

Michael Shannon would be great as Luthor or Braniac and so would Viggo.

Perhaps Ramirez is being looked at for Bruno Manheim? Hmm...

Ramirez certainly would suit and if Shannon ends up as Lex does that mean they're after Viggo for Brainiac?

It does make sense admittedly especially with the whole Intergang stuff like you said and would backup the old Latino Review report on the storyline.

It was on CBM,and whoever took it down, made a really big effort for it not be traced back, lol.
