I haven't been paying much attention to what the general consensus on the new Batmobile, but somebody said it was 50/50. Is it really?

There is a mixed response to the new Batmobile online. Some like the design, other people dont. Other people like the guns, some dont.

Anyone else hoping Supergirl & hopefully teen titans will end up on abc family after pretty little lairs? that would be a good sunday block. I'm thankful to be living in a time where comic book movies & tv shows are so great.

The news about there possibly being a new Supergirl and Teen Titans TV show, does interest me greatly. I've read they might be going for a funnier angle with Supergirl, whereas Teen Titans will feature Nightwing in a prominent role, which is pretty cool.

Umm... Disney owns ABC FAMILY. So... No. I don't think that is in the cards.

47 is totally different from 50. I could deal with a 47 year old Batman but not a 50 year old Batman, the difference is the world.

/sarc.

I though it was early to mid 40's (43-45?) Either way, definitely not 50, and none of this Urban Legend for over 30 years garbage.

If the guns are retractable I think the retracted look will be very popular.

I feel majority like/love the design. But it seems the cool thing to do right now is hate on the guns cause TEH BATS DUZNT LYK GUNZZZZ! BEN AFFLECK IS A KILLAAA HE SUCKSS.

It is thought (by many) that some people don't like Batman having guns while, on the opposite view, most people don't care either way as long as he doesn't use them to actually kill people, like in previous movies. At least that is what I am reading on-line (from many various sites). :o

I think a pretty decent argument can be made that despite Batman not liking handheld firearms, if he's going to be in the Batmobile he may need some type of offense, so he could be more okay with having a gun attached to the car ESPECIALLY if it's of the rubber bullets/non-lethal/riot tank variety.

Until we see this Batmobile mow down criminals with bullets, we have no reason to doubt it's still the same 'ol Batman.

That raises a question though. Do you think people would be angry if Batman at the start of the movie is a different Batman due to maybe his older more cynical nature but changes due to his interaction with Superman?
I feel like a lot of fans get mad if the characters aren't exactly dead set versions of their comic selves from beginning to end.
Look how they reacted to a young Superman just starting out.

Yeah I think Batman doesn't like using guns...TO KILL PEOPLE.

Saw this on Imgur. This needs to happen in a Batfleck film. It's so funny.

Batman has killed so many times in the movies,
I have trouble understanding why it bothers people so much.
Its nothing new .

Because those incidents of him killing in the movies are indeed relatively new in Batman's long history, n are seen as a mischaracterization of the Batman who is known to have a no-kill policy for about 70 years now and that is seen by most long-time fans as a primary facet of his personality that shouldn't be messed with.

Well,
My own interpretation of the gun turrets on the new Batmobile,
is that they may be loaded with Kryptonite bullets designed to weaken Superman sufficiently enough to make his capture a possibility .

Wouldn't that kill Superman instead?

Exactly ^

Im of the impression that the gun is used to remove obstacles, and to intimidate. I figure it'd have rubber bullets and maybe an intimidation mode.

Its not the Batmobile having guns. The Batmobile has almost always had some kind of not-really-nonlethal firepower ( I don't distinguish between guns and missiles, its not meaningful ). Its more. . . having the firepower be very overt and exposed. Usually, you don't see the guns or missiles on the Batmobile unless they are actually being used.

Granted, it could be that they are retractable, but they really don't look it. You'd need CGI to retract those guns, and if that were the case, you'd expect they'd use CGI to *insert* the guns. After all, it'd be kind of silly to put a feature on your prop vehicle that you need to digitally delete almost every scene, when you could instead just digitally insert it for the 1-2 scenes its needed.
