Really? Don't go there.

Why? The visual style of the actions scenes of both MoS and BvS are reminiscent to that of the TF movies - A lot of CGI (incomprehensible at times), destruction and style over substance.

I enjoy the action in those. That doesn't mean that it is good. I take it for what it is - just some stylish and relaxing action to enjoy on a Saturday/Sunday evening. But far from the masterpiece that some people are making it out to be.

WW looks much better (in terms of action), although you can still see rubber faces in close-up action shots. MoS's action suffered (heavily) from this and make it look cheap and fake.

I believe he did the Hacksaw Ridge score too

He was actually a replacement after John Debney's score got rejected because it didn't fit the film, after Gibson made some changes.

I'm not a big fan of him, and like his brother Harry, he can sometimes follow the Zimmer template a bit too much, but I'm sure he'll do a reasonable job.

It's not as if the role of Wonder Woman requires an exceptional deal of acting talent, and I say that as someone who loves the character. Some of her delivery was good, some of it was "meh," but I think she'll be fine. This isn't a genre of movies where we should expect Oscar worthy performances, because we're just setting up ourselves for disappointments. Looking good in the costume is half the battle, and she and the production crew have nailed that aspect.

Hilarious how some people expect Gal Gadot to be female Daniel Day Lewis so she can play Wonder Woman.

From what we can see here, she's fine. Not particularly bad or great, just fine. Just like quite a few other actors who are now playing big roles in these movies.

Comic book nerds are always convincing themselves these are the juiciest parts an actor can get when in reality they're not held in that regard at all within the industry. If Chris Hensworth can get away with being a leading part pretty much anyone can

Anyway I think people are being quite hard on Gadot, I liked what I saw. The cinematography is about 10 levels up from the dross previously served up in the DCEU

I'm not expecting anything from Gadot acting-wise. I just hope her lack of acting skill isn't too distracting (like in BvS). I will be really happy if she manages to reach the level of Daniel Radcliffe or Kristen Stewart.

I see he's done the score for most of Adam Sandler's movies:oldrazz:

Good to be in here. Wonder Woman looks absolutely breathtaking. Very excited to usher in the Geoff John's era with Wonder Woman and especially excited for her hardcore fans. Very excited for this. Easily the game-changer in the DCEU.

Three things that immediately stuck out:

#1. Themyscira looks spectacular. A true paradise to behold! Beautiful cinematography and visuals.

#2. AWESOME Superman: The Movie reference where Diana reflects the bullet away from Steve Trevor in the alley way. As a Supes fan, that was fun to see!

#3.

^I couldn't help but notice when Diana deflects the energy, it turns blue. Flash's lighting?

Kristen Stewart? So you want her to reach the bottom? She's about as bad as it gets in terms of big movie actresses

You saying it's bad doesn't make it so.Neither does me saying it's great. If it's not your cup of tea that's fine. But try to accept the fact that other people love the way it's done instead of questioning their taste in movies and making childish statements like "I bet you love Transformers movies."

There's a lot of average acting in the CBM sphere, I'm not sure why so many actors get a pass on it but in Gadot's case it's going to break the movie.

And I'd say she's a bit of a mixed bag, some of her delivery is a little bland, but then she's had a number of lines that were quite endearing, or comical, or imposing, or whatever she needed to be in that instance.

Don't you know? Cuz DC.

Because that's exactly what some of us have been saying.

I don't expect an Oscar-worthy performance. I do, however, expect a good performance. That did not come across in the trailer. Just my personal opinion, of course. Feel free to misconstrue that however you wish.

I think some are too hard on Gal gadot.let's be honest she was hired for her looks.

having said that I thought In BVS she was quite decent In her museum scene with Affleck where she had her most dialogue in..I hadn't seen anything with her before BVS.

She's still better than Gadot acting-wise. Means Gadot's acting is almost non-existent.

I'm gifing the trailer and I cannot with that dude in the background:

Have you seen that Jackie Chan movie Around the world in 80 days? He does that pretty much the whole time he was in the movie :woot:

That's absolutely what these movies can be at their best. It hasn't really been a perk of the DC movies since Nolan left, but it could be. Top talent does sign up for these films. Fox has James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Marvel has a bunch of incredible actors and actresses, Cate Blanchett as the most impressive. They just hired an Oscar winner for Captain Marvel, and that's a role nowhere near as important as Wonder Woman.

What's with all the slo-mo complaints all of a sudden? From my memory, there was practically no slo-mo in MoS or BvS, and I remember people actually said they want some slo-mo to show off Superman's speed during fights. Honestly, this forum flip flops more than a presidential candidate sometimes.

Sometimes? ALL THE TIME!:oldrazz:

It's always great when it happens, but it I don't think it should be expected. Let's be honest: the majority of the output for the published source material, at any given time, has little (if any) literary merit. I know we comic fans like to inflate the importance of DC/Marvel's stuff, but really, only 2-3 of their 50+ titles a month at any given time are worth the time of day. Wonder Woman herself has great stuff by Marston, Perez, Rucka and Morrison, but the rest is all either standard fare or utter crap. Logically, if we adapt this material into Summer blockbusters, we shouldn't expect cinematic masterpieces or flawless acting because odds are the best stuff beyond the basic mythology won't make it into a film that needs to appeal to the widest audience possible.

And while Marvel has had some amazing actors at its disposal, they haven't always had the best roles. Anybody could have played Jane Foster as written, they didn't need Natalie Portman. And if Hemsworth can get by, I think Gadot should be fine, as limited as her range is. The most we should hope for, IMO, is a fun time at the movies and maybe hope that the newest CBM will be better than average, but not much more. Which makes it all the more pleasantly surprising when they manage it.

Nice trailer --I like it a lot as it seems to me that Jenkins is keeping the main plot-line under wrap. We wouldn't have a good idea about it until nearer the release date next June. This is a trailer, it ran for under 3 mins but I already could see that it'll have less emphasis on action and more on the relationship between Diana & Steve with the villains (Ares? Dr Poison? others?) servicing the story.

I saw a parallel with Reeve's Superman saving Lois from a robber's bullet in the alleyway scene in Superman The Movie and Gadot's Wonder Woman saving Steve from the initial bullet in an alleyway scene. I knew that Jenkins cited Donner's Superman as one of her influences, so maybe it was intentional. lol

I like the usage of colour -- grey tone for WW1 stuffs, blue tone for Themyscira, and bright multi-colours for the Diana & Etta scenes.

I think at least some of the comments about Gadot’s acting are really complaints about her accent.
