Benefict Cumberbatch is a mediocre actor? Chadwick Boseman, Brie Olsen?????

Mark Ruffalo, Edward Norton, Don Cheadle, the list goes on and on, really. There are indeed some capable actors in the MCU.

I think at least some of the comments about Gadot’s acting are really complaints about her accent.

I really dig the accent, it fits with the character and the world they're building.

I have my reservations about Gadot, but nothing that will sink my excitement for the movie.

Maybe but really there are and have been many great actresses/actors who have non-american/english accents. Acting transcends accent.

I know Gal's acting mostly from the Fast series and yeah she was pretty bad there but I'll be open minded that she's improved from then.

Her limited role in BvS was fine but it was limited acting wise compared to headlining a whole film.

man this film may be the most gorgeous dc film to date those sweeping shots!!

Themyscira looks right like it should. Otherworldly beautiful, but in a more grounded way... it is not too fantastical.

I am a bit reminded of Machu Picchu, for some reason.

Given that we know the identity of at least one villain, shouldn't we have a Doctor Poison thread now? I mean, it's all but confirmed that is the character Elena Anaya plays:

180

Likely the original version of Dr Poison, i.e. Princess Maru rather than the second version? The one in the trailer seems to point to the old version. Instead of WWII/the Nazi, it'll be WWI/Prussian army and Dr Poison likely tried to create havoc among the Allied army of which Steve Trevor was part of but also a Prussian spy who escaped & crash landed on Themyscira(?).

I would assume so, yeah. By the way, there is a New 52 version now as well, a daughter of Russian scientists:

They keep reinventing the character.

Edit:

By the way, I just realized it is Orana that seems to get killed by the bullet in the trailer. She also dies early on in the comics as well, she is Wonder Woman mythos' Sean Bean.

So, are the Amazons susceptible to bullets? Has that always been the case for WW? I'm not as familiar with her power set

Just saw this on Screenrant but looks like Bruce sent Diana the picture. There's a letter with a Wayne Enterprises logo on it

Yes, they can be injured/killed by bullets.

So does anyone know who the main villain in this is? Danny Huston is obviously a bad guy but do we know if any of Diana's classic comic book enemies will be appearing?

Was gonna try and wait to see the trailer until tomorrow before Doctor Strange, but I couldn't wait. I'll be honest, the first trailer didn't do much for me but this one got me excited to see it.

The posters were incredibly well done too and the more I think about it, the more I love Gal as Wonder Woman!

Yup:

At least they are in incarnations I am familiar with.

I had heard that Ares was the main villain.
It makes sense, being set during WW1 and all.

Not too familiar with the New 52, so there is another version as well.

lol at Sean Bean reference.

How do we know if Orana died in the film? She may just have been injured. We don't know if Themyscira environment conveyed some magical power or not in this film.

No actual confirmations. Anaya seems to be doctor Poison. Huston seems to be either Ares or Duke of Deception.

Yeah, that does make sense. If he is, I hope we get to see him in his comic book form soon. That's one of DC's best character designs.

Me neither, I just saw on Wikipedia that there is that version too.

To be fair, we don't, but it certainly seemed like that from the trailer. Of course, it could just be the way it's cut, but taking into account the fact that Orana does bite the dust in the comics I find it likely they will do that on film as well.

Does that include WW herself?

The incarnation of WW I'm most familiar with is pretty much female Superman.

Usually not. She does have superhuman durability. Basically female Superman, yeah.

No, Wonder Woman has superhuman durability.
Also this is the reason why should deflects/block bullets.

:awesome::awesome::awesome:

It's possible that there will be Darkseid influence, afterall there supposedly a Motherbox in Themyscira.

Yeah, I always assumed that Wondy was as durable as Superman. I mean, I remember in The Dark Knight Strikes Again, Superman and her f*** so hard it causes an earthquake.

Of course, that terrible book probably isn't the best reference for Wonder Woman's abilities. :D

the trailer was awesome, really looking forward to this film

lots of inspirational heroism in this story by the looks of it, don't know if that will shut up the haters though
