The Dark Knight Rises Alleged "Batman 3" News from Members of Production Team

I wouldn't be surprised if pre-production started in feb. We've heard that Warners made an offer to Nolan for the third. I'm sure the offer was VERY lucrative. Enough so, that he decided to proceed and put other projects on hold.

If this was conceived as a trilogy, which again we've heard is the case, then they probably have a very good idea of what the third movie will be, and just need a script.

First up, Batman. There have been rumors making the internet rounds this week basically saying that the third Chris Nolan Batman film had entered into pre-production and was looking for crew members. A WB exec told me directly that another Batman film is not in pre-production and is not getting ready to shoot. Not at all. We were told this rumor is total BS and that Nolan just got back from vacation and while WB is keen (duh) to make a third film, there has been no immediate conversations with Nolan and that the rumor is totally bogus.

I wouldn't be surprised that Iesb is fed ********: even if there was something going on, i doubt that Nolan and co would like the world to know it especially now. remember, that they called Tdk Rory's kiss the first weeks of production ..I don't see any reason for chicagobat to lie, seeing his shh history.

we'll see in a few month anyways.

Believe it or not... but this is what I was told at a film related event this weekend here in Chicago and I won't say which one because I don't want to get those who shared this into trouble.

They go into pre-production in February to shoot next summer.

Depp is involved. They say as "The Riddler".

The people I talked to were involved in production of "The Dark Knight" here in Chicago and as the film community here is small, most of this community is retained picture to picture.

I think there is much more done in terms of a script and story than the brothers Nolan and Goyer are letting on right now and that makes sense... why would they give it away that they have more ready to go so early in the game? They've always kept details secret.

Do I believe them? I said that the "Depp as Riddler" thing has been done to death on the internet, and I wondered if it was where they heard it but they insisted it was true.

We shall see...

I don't really know how I feel about the riddler. I think if I was going to do him a way that 1)I would like and 2)fits into this franchise, he'd just be a fake Joker. And I don't think that's that great of an idea.

There's a lot of shenanigans going on with Batman 3. First all the Riddler/Catwoman rumors, then these preproduction rumors, what's coming next?

if the riddler is to be presented in a realistic context, i think even though he must be portrayed as differently from the joker as possible, his character should be presented as and viewed as by the public to be some sort of joker copycat, or at least inspired by him, at least to explain the similarities between their names and motifs.

That would work, but it'd probably be boring.

All I think of when I see Ronny Shade's avvy is...LAU!

ya... can't be too sure on SHH when smileys are not involved.

It isn't out of the ordinary for a movie to start working on prep this early.Spider-Man 2 did 2nd unit filming months before they even had a signed up Alfred Molina and before they had a finished script. But it's doubtful since as far as we know Nolan hasn't even decided what his next project will be.

Producers are looking at returning to Chicago though according to this story so it's a possiblity.

Actor Pasquesi's "Factory" series bow June 29 on Spike TV; we hear rumors about big possibilities

ACTOR DAVID PASQUESI’S TV SERIES, “Factory,” will bow June 29 on Spike TV, but Pasquesi may not see the premiere episode.

He is filming in Rome, in the super big-budget “Angels and Demons” from Imagine Entertainment and based on author Dan Brown's prequel to "The DaVinci Code."

The largely improvised “Factory” is about four guys – Mitch Rouse, Jay Leggett, Michael Coleman and Pasquesi -- who grew up together in the same small Illinois town and now work in the local factory.

When a work-related accident creates a job opening, the guys have to decide who should get the promotion, which unfortunately might require actual work.

WE HEAR … that the producers of the “Batman” franchise are looking into construction for a possible “Batman III” to be shot -- we can only hope -- in our city’s version of Gotham City. (See the story above about Jerry Vasalotis’ “Batman” fan film.)

Before Heath, Molina's Doc Ock used to be my favorite comic book villain on screen.

Christopher Nolan Signed For Batman 3?
By Josh Tyler: 2008-10-04 14:59:31

Despite rumors to the contrary, it looks like Christopher Nolan may now indeed be signed to direct a sequel to The Dark Knight. The newest edition of Production Weekly went out this morning, and they list Nolan as the official director of Batman 3, along with Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman in the cast.

They further confirm some of the rumors which were swirling around earlier this week, listing Batman 3 as slated to go into pre-production in February of 2009. On Wednesday IESB.net attempted to debunk the rumors of the film’s imminent pre-production when they were told by a WB exec that the film “is not in pre-production and is not getting ready to shoot”. That’s not necessarily wrong. It’s not in pre-production and it’s not getting ready to shoot… right now. It will however be in pre-production this coming February.

Production Weekly is not normally prone to exaggeration. In theory, they get all of their information directly from official sources and not internet rumors. Still, it’s somewhat surprising that Warner Bros. would give that information to Production Weekly before they’re able to make a big, splashy announcement themselves. This Batman franchise is sort of a big deal after all.
