6 of the 8 teams are in non-nfl cities.
Is this a new pro league?
NFL development league, sort of.
They're playing in the spring, so I will watch.
I hope that this league does not have a rules analyst like every network covering the NFL has.
About this league ......
It can work
Cause it ain't the old XFL
Cause it's not a NFL based minor league
Cause this league doesn't have teams owned by Trump
This Spring football league can work
The AAF can work, Vince's 2nd XFL will fail
XFL and AAF will merge.
Another new league is starting to be run by former players like Ricky Williams( Will Pot be allowed on the sidelines for medical reasons?).

Opening Weekend is here baby!
I recognize a few names, like Zack Mettenberger, Denard Robinson, and Trent Richardson. I wish they could've got Johnny Manziel, he's fun to watch at least. I may do that free trial of CBS All Access and watch a game.
Games does not look bad...does not look gimmicky. Looks like real, professional, played football.
Ref unies takes a little getting use too however.
I’m watching it now. I know there’s someone on Orlando or Atlanta that was on the ravens but I can’t think of his name.
I heard Vick is the OC for the Atlanta team and Spurrier is a coach so there are some names around this league.
It would be great if this becomes akin to the NBA G-League and gives players a chance to makes their way back into the league or give them the chance they missed out on before.
I agree CC....btw, Vick is not with the team...he had to step down because of obligations another network...he may rejoin the team before season end, after his obligations are done.
Tiki Barber as well as Trent Green is calling the game in San Antonio.
The Orlando/Atlanta game is showing here. I didn’t Vick stepped down. If I recall, Gilbert, the QB for Orlando was with the Panthers for a bit. They dominated the second quarter
SA def SD 15-6
Mike Marks, old Rams "Greatest Show on Turf" coach, coaches the San Diego Fleet...they have kool unies btw.
Sunday games are:
Memphis @ Birmingham 4pm et(CBS Streaming)
Salt Lake City @ Arizona 8pm et.(NFL Network)

Within this link is the 10 week season tv/network schedules, give some familiar NFL names involved in the league(from front office, coaches, & players) & nice look at unies for each team. Detail some minor rule changes as well.
I enjoyed what I saw last night. Excited to see if they can keep it up.
Sunday week 1 games
Memphis 0-26 Birmingham FINAL
Salt Lake 0-0 Arizona 1st 8m
Birmingham honestly did not look that good; but, Memphis looked worse...so I wouldn't put much stock into the Iron of Birmingham shutout victory over the Express.
The Apollos of Orlando looked like the class of the league through one game...probably will win the East, given how bad the other teams looked thus far. The West looks wide open...all of those team have & currently, at time of post, are making a pretty good showing. interested to see how every team follow up, in Week 2.
BTW...halftime...Stallions 16-19 Hotshots
Salt Lake 22-38 Arizona FINAL
why do these upstart football leagues always try to put teams in places like Memphis and Birmingham?
I watched it for a hot minute on Saturday Night. The QB play is subpar, even in what are really basic schemes. I know a lot of people tuned in out of morbid curiosity this week though. Will be interested to see what ratings look like subsequent weeks.
QB play looked far below average in a league where the rules state you can't rush more than 5 players at a time and they have to come within a box that extends 2 yards past the tackles. Hopefully things get better but for the most part, but the SA-SD game looked like they picked a bunch of guys off the street and had them practice for only a week.
I was pulling for the Stallions but it was a fun game anyway!
most of the Iron players are from Alabama or Auburn. i think they try to hit on the "big" college football towns or areas because if i recall, the majority of the teams are made up of college stars.
i bet the orlando team has a bunch of players who played in florida schools
