Marion Cotillard is in negotiations to star opposite Brad Pitt in the untitled World War II project from Paramount and New Regency.


Robert Zemeckis is directing the romantic drama which is being produced by Graham King, Steve Starkey and Zemeckis.


The movie will see Pitt and Cotillard as assassins who fall in love during a mission in Casablanca to kill a German ambassador.The duo marry, but domestic bliss is cut short when Pitt’s character, a French-Canadian, is informed his wife is a double agent working for the German government and he must kill her.

Steven Knight wrote the script.


The movie is expected to shoot in the new year in Casablanca, London and Canada.

This sounds like Mr. and Mrs. Smith by way of Casablanca. Which is pretty much what a modern remake of Casablanca would be so they are essentially remaking Casablanca.

Ill probably watch it tho. I like Brad Pitt and Zemeckis.

I didnt say it would have to be about assassins, but I can totally see Hollywood doing something stupid like that. "Oh we gotta make it exciting for the new generation! Lets have a shootout right in the middle of Rick's bar while Sam plays Taylor Swift's Shake it Off on his iWatch!"

Lizzy Caplan has joined Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard in Robert Zemeckis’ untitled period spy thriller.
Zemeckis is directing the film from a script by Steven Knight.


The pic is set in 1942 and follows a spy (Pitt) who falls in love and marries a French agent (Cotillard) during a dangerous North African mission. Caplan will play Pitt’s sister in the thriller.
