Plot doesn't sound good.
Don't care for the casting.
Boll is producing.

But Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer are writing and directing it.

Bloody Disgusting has gotten word that the sequel, which this time will be about a group of "witch hunters" tracking down a witch named Elisabeth Dexter, is set to begin shooting August 6th in Los Angeles and New York. It should come as no shock that neither Christian Slater, Tara Reid, nor Stephen Dorff will be returning. Alone in the Dark 2 will reportedly star the trio of The Fast & the Furious' Rick Yune, Best of the Best 2 villain and current Boll movie regular of late Ralf Moeller, and Lance "Has the check cleared yet?" Henriksen. I’m guessing none of them will be playing the Elisabeth Dexter part.

According to the IMDB Boll will only produce the sequel, leaving writing and directing duties to Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer, whose vampire-hunting flick Brotherhood of Blood is due in the near future.

Yeah, is this going STV like House of the Dead 2? If it's in the theatre, that will be a damn shame.

spare us from recieving any more boll news please

Dee in Alone 2

Here's some news to blow your mind: Dee Wallace Stone, the scream queen of yesteryear rocking some unforgettable roles in THE HOWLING and CUJO, has been cast in ALONE IN THE DARK II. Yes, let that sink in. They're actually making a sequel to Uwe Boll's 'trashy classic' ALONE IN THE DARK. The good news? It appears that Dr. Boll will be nowhere near the sequel... so it has potential to rock!

According to MovieHole, Stone will be starring alongside Rick Yune, Lance Henriksen and Ralf Moeller in the sequel, which is being written and directed by Michael Roesch. It's a good thing Boll is not involved, but let it be known that the Roesch also wrote the first ALONE IN THE DARK and the forgettable HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2. Hmmmm... I see a trend here: Roesch is getting Dr. Boll's sloppy seconds! Well, I suppose there are worse things... plus, any movie that features Henriksen is doing is going in the right direction in my book.

Considering most were disappointed by DARK, perhaps PART II will be the game adaptation that fans have been waiting for. To check out the full scoop, go ahead and click HERE, and get ready for ALONE IN THE DARK II (aka ALONE IN THE DARK: FATE OF EXISTENCE) which is currently gearing up for pre-production as we speak.

Crew and plot info for Alone in the Dark 2

»Uwe Boll spoke to GameDaily about Alone in the Dark 2 which is - in fact - a straight-to-DVD prequel to the first film. With a budget of $6 million, the movie will film for six weeks in Los Angeles and New York City. The bulk of the film will be shot in LA with some exteriors shot in and around Central Park. Dee Wallace (The Hills Have Eyes, E.T.), Zack Ward (Postal, Transformers), Michael Paré (Eddie and the Cruisers, Seed) and Natassia Malthe (DOA, BloodRayne 2) have joined the production with more actors to be cast very soon. Universal will release Alone in the Dark 2 on DVD in May 2008.

The film will follow the basic plot of the new Alone in the Dark game from Atari and will be set in Central Park and deal with a horror there,” said Boll. “We did not work with Atari on the movie, but we had a source that provided us information on the new game.

Universal will release Alone in the Dark II on DVD in May 2008.

Good lord... Now Boll is a producer? He obviously has a vault full of Nazi gold somewhere, it's the only explanation.

Or, maybe it's like that Crocodile Dundee movie where his movies are actually a front for criminal activity?

I never saw this first one, so this news means nothing to me.
