Why? Is something happening on the forums that I'm overlooking......... or is the SHH Boards that koooolll

It's getting closer to all these heavy hitters of superhero movies coming out, the Avengers has new ads coming out almost every week, it's out in a month or whatever it is.
It's the Avengers and TDKR boards that have the most traffic right now, much moreso than any other boards.
The Spider-man boards light up when significant new footage is released too.
this is tha year for da sooperhero moovies, didncha know.

We will see if it breaks the hype record. It says on the bottom of the page:
"Most users ever online was 4,095, 01-03-2010 at 06:12 PM."

My guess is Christopher Nolan read the telephone book through Skype.

The sad thing is I believe that. :lmao:

The most guests/members on a single board (from my time here) was something like 756, I think -- and it was due to the leak of the TDKR teaser.

I can only imagine what chaos TDKR will bring forth when the final trailer is leaked.

SHH will be in ashes. :oldrazz:

There will be a lot of new people leading up to the release of TDKR. Once the movie opens and a few weeks have passed, they will disappear. It happened when TDK came out.

SHH crashed many times in summer 2008. I wonder if they are better prepared this time.

A good day well noted. :woot:

Avatar's script was recycled garbage but the visuals/SFX truly brought me down to my knees.

It was simple, but I wouldn't call it garbage. The script didn't have noticeable flaws or unlikable characters.

I didn't really like any of the characters :p

I think one of the reasons Avatar's story is so criticized is because the film was hyped up beyond belief, to the point I guess where most people were expecting a rich and original story. We didn't exactly get that.

Also, the Unobtanium was stupid :p

The criticism only limits to the internet backlash, people still love that movie outside of the internet bubble (as do I).

I have to take Kane's side on this. If the Internet peddles in anything it's cynicism. Most people I know think it was badass. I'm a bit more tempered in my opinion, but the 3D did **** my eyeballs.

Most people I know didn't think it was anything great (except for one friend who fan-gasm'd over it).

Very strong opinions by people on the film I'll say that.

I'll have to disagree with that notion. Cameron promised a magnificent story to go along with the visuals/SFX but instead we got Pocahontas having a threeway Ferngully and Dances with Wolves.

I mean, it's not like I love it, but at the same time it wasn't a terrible movie to me. The real problem that people have with the movie mirrors doomsdays, the story isn't as groundbreaking as the visuals.

And also, the whole similar story thing is has been repeated so much on the Internet that it really has no meaning to me, especially considering that people are doing the same thing with the Hunger games.

Avatar is similar, but different in terms of setting. Also, the story was solidly done, and we all know that the story wasn't the forefront of the movie. Similar =\= garbage. Garbage story = garbage.

I mean the story has been done before, but it was handled in such a way that it still remained a good story in Avatar. But it is definitely the weakest link in the film.

At the same time most of them were uninteresting. Only person I even cared for was Neytiri.

How is Avatar passing 1 billion able to bring that many guests here? Was it really that big of a deal. People didn't actually think TDK would be the last billion dollar film.

I guess it was the fashion in which the plot was hyped by Cameron and the general audience that made me despise it. James, himself, stated that AVATAR contained no protagonists and antagonists, yet the humans were clearly portrayed as the villains. I think the story would have benefitted greatly from a far lesser 'greedy' and 'militaristic-machismo' approach to the humans.
