This is a topic that comes up quite frequently. Lots of people really dislike the idea of Laurie killing people. And yes, she was the only person who did. Dan just broke bones. Laurie broke the guy's neck, and then stabbed another guy.

Is this another look at her character? Maybe this was how her mother raised her? Lets discuss. :word:

Yes, I felt the same way. That fight scene was really out of character for both of them. Nearly ruined the movie for me. It felt like Burton's Batman all over again.

Lol Yeah almost forgot about that, dam that **** was brutal.

Well....I felt it worked. I mean, they were gonna kill them, so who knows.

Maybe Laurie is more of a crazy ***** then we knew?

Did they kill them in the comic? It just seemed really brutal and unnecessary to me. Very unsuperhero like.

I thought it was pretty awesome and interesting for her character. She was badass.

Probably more to do with who her father was.

Well they ain't your typical superheros.

Nope just beat the **** out of them as opposed to a knife in the kneck.

That really bothered me. Rorschach and the Comedian seemed like the only ones who would kill. Or at least kill that that brutally.

It's because Snyder is a gore freak. I find it funny how Dan disapproves of Rorschach tactics, yet he's snapping bones and Laurie is stabbing people in the neck when they obviously have the skills to incapacitate them and then call the police. I thought they were better than that.

I just thought it was because Laurie (and probably Dan) were getting aroused by the excitement and got carried away.

yeah, good for the ones who liked it and not embark themselves on the constant whining trend

Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who took issue with this. Its incredibly out of character for both of them and --honestly-- wasn't needed at all. Just have them beat the crap out of them, they don't need to suddenly be killing people. Really.

Dan should totally just talk to them insted of protecting himself from being murdered.

It was a life or death situation.

Laurie killed. And only Laurie.

I guess it's because I'm gore fan. I love me some gore. But again, I fail to see the big deal here. It was killed or be killed.

They handled themselves perfectly in the prison fight scene, IMO. They inflicted punishment on the inmates, but didn't take it too far.

Oh no lets all take turns sucking Synder co.. while the rest rub his balls and we all praise this film as the master piece it clearly is.

The scene is supposed to make you realize. They're. Not. Heroes.

I like how it's being pretended that you saw anyone actually killed. Could they have died? Absolutely. But did anyone see any of those men actually die? You can survive a number of things, including being stabbed in the throat, a broken neck, etc.

How is it incredibly out of character?

Just because it didn't HAPPEN in the book doesn't make it out of character. Both Dan and Laurie show the potential to lose their tempers and kill in the book.

I agree with this.

I have the book right here. Here are all the things they do to the Katies. (Panel to Panel)

Dan:
Grabs Katie
Breaks one's nose with his two fingers.
Punches one across the face.
Grabs one.
Slams one's head into something.

Laurie:
Breaks a guy's arm.
Nothing.
Punches a guy in the balls.
I guess either grabs his balls, or punches him across the face. Kinda hard to tell.
Nothing,

Thats in the comics. Make of it what you will.

So since it didn't happen in the comic, it can't happen in the film?
