Well hi, im new here (from Spain, sorry my english hehe). This is not really exactly about Xmen 3, but is a purpose to comment what actors/actresses would have you chosen to make the movies instead the actual ones. I´ve made several substitutions i´d consider better to be more similar to the original comic characters. I also added actors for characters that actually don´t appear in the movies bt we also would love to. What do you think about? :)

MAGNETO (Sean Bean)

STORM (Angela Basset)

BEAST (Brian Dennehy)

GAMBIT (Ian Somerhalder)

ANGEL (Josh Holloway)

I could actually see that if they were playing Magneto as unrealistically young.

Well, Sean is 17 April 1959, i dont remember the age of Magneto in comics, but i think the actual magneto in the movie is too old and physically weak. If you think Sean needs a litle older face is easy to do that with Makeup as always. ;)
When i search for actors here i try to match their natural faces and facial features with their Relative comic characters. :)

Here i go with another 2. Wolverine and Charles Xavier

WOLVERINE (Nick Chinlund)

CHARLES XAVIER (Yul Brynner) I know he is dead lol, but is so cool to be the professor Xavier.

I have no idea who that Chinlund guy is, but what you may not know is that Xavier was originally based off of Yul.

Chinlund could be seen for example in The Chronicles of Riddick, is the bountyhunter that pursues Riddick. You can also see him in Denzel Washington´s Training Day. I didnt know the Yul / Xavier thing, is cool to know that, now i understand the great face similarity, thanks :)

if I had to choose one character to change actor, it'd be Juggernaut. not because Vinnie Jones is a particularly bad choice, but because I'd probably pee my pants in excitement at seeing Ray Stevenson as Juggs.

I'd also love to see what Dougray Scott would've done with Wolverine, Nona Gaye as Storm and Jeremy Irons as Magneto

It's not really ontopic, but Sean Bean... he would make a brilliant Sinister.

Sean Bean as Sinister?...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..

Hypothetically speaking, I wouldn't mind it...

Zaxon, genius ideas. Sean Bean looks great as Magneto. Sure, he would be too young but the comics have never really portrayed him as an aged man, he's like a silver haired Stallone in those pics.
Wasn't Angela Bassett originally tipped to be Storm? She would have been so much better.

I liked the casting, other than Halle Berry and Anna Paquin. It's not really Anna Paquin herself that I don't like; it's more the Rogue character in the movie in general.

That Yul brunner guy (first time i've heard of him--shows my age) looks exactly like Xavier even down to the arched eyebrows.

Some great casting choices. Interesting to know that Xavier is based on Yul Brenner.

Stevenson is great in Rome.

Those are some great casting choices  The guy you picked to play wolverine looks a lot like the Ultimate version

That? Would be awesome. Or maybe Jeremy Irons. They're both so good at playing sinister characters. Great voices too.

i know this is off topic, but i forgot who they had play Gambits cameo in the bar scene of X2, but i think Stephen Dorff would be a good fit.

He was in Blade as Deacon Frost...and they actually gave him red eyes

In the comic books a couple decades into publishing the stories the character got a new, relatively young body. He was de-aged to a little boy and then re-aged to a man in his late prime.

So if they wrote some parallel same end-result storyline or jsut reference to that in the movieverse they could go with a plenty younger actor than Ian McKellan, someone decades older than the character was ever physically drawn as looking.

My alternative cast would be:

X-Men (2000)

Professor X: Billy Zane
Magneto: Daniel Day-Lewis

Storm: Tyra Banks

Cyclops: Vince Vaughn

Jean Grey: Jennifer Connelly

Wolverine: Joe Rogan

Nightcrawler: James Franco

Rogue: Mandy Moore (not introduced till the 2nd or 3rd film in my franchise)

Shadowcat: Emmy Rossum

Angel: Ryan Phillipe

White Queen: Uma Thurman

Jamie Bell: Cannonball

I like the idea of Mandy Moore as Rogue, because she's pretty hot, but as far as seeing her play the role i dont think she has the "skills" to do it. She's not that great of an actress. :xmen:

Sean Bean would be a nice alternative for Magneto, along with Nick Chinlund for Wolverine.

She is plenty good enough an actress. She pretty consistantly gets good reviews as an actress. She's just had too high a ratio of too light, too lame chick flick movies. Movies that obviously are on the other side of the spectrum from X-Men.

Nick Chinlund would be good, but I think Joe Rogan as Wolverine is brilliant.

THANK YOU. Some people insult me for this idea. They've probably gotten used to "leading man Wolverine".
