Am I the only one who is actually pleased with Green Arrow?

I thought he was pretty damn good as Green Arrow. The tech glasses he used were a bit much. But they had the character down. See the argument between Ollie and Lois. That was him all the way.

nah, they can't have batman in the justice because at this time he's going after joe chill or is out travelling the world trying to leanr about the criminal fraternity.
No, they can´t have Batman/Bruce Wayne cause WB won´t let them use this character. If they could have Batman, they would have used him long time ago. It´s a totally different universe, they don´t care what Batman does at this point of his life in the comics, cartoons or movies.
Same for Wonder Woman.

i like it too. Can't replace batman, but sure is a very good substitute.

7 episodes is not enough!!! We need more GA episodes, and a GA series.

I actually, like GA alot more than Clark for some reason- might be that GA is fresh and "new." But, Hartley (similar to Rosenbaum) just steals the show.

We need a GA series.

That's because Clark and Superman in general isn't as "cool" as a lot of other super hero's. Because of his strong moriality Clark can't cut loose the way other hero's can, look at their first meeting in this show, the Green Arrow was kinda joking around a bit and asked a lot of morally ambigious questions, Clark on the other hand finds nothing "entertaining" in such a meeting and lives in a black and white world with simple thoughts on right and wrong which can sometimes make him seem less interesting that other characters.

This is a show about Clark Kent. Let the GA, and any other superhero, have his/her own show. I want to watch Smallville, not the GA show.

They tried to give other heroes from Smallville, a chance. His name was Aquaman...but as we all know, Mercy Reef suffered a worst fate than Runaway. It didn't even get aired (yet, some how Runaway got approval for at least three episodes on the CW. Go figure). However, other heroes seem to do a bang up job on Smallville. Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and now Green Arrow. Each of them has left a lasting impression. Rather than the basic Buffy/Angel baddy of the week formula, it seems that Smallville is mixing it up with the "Hero of the season" formula. As for Superman, I agree that his character type, can lead to less interesting scenarios. I think that is why Spider-Man movies have a greater turn out than Superman did. Superman is very serious, very heroic, and very clean cut. No real jokes or straying the line. He knows his purpose in life and he pretty much sticks to it. Superman is more admirable than cool. He's the guy who stays home while school is in session, and does his homework. Only goes out to hang out, on weekends he has free, or when there is a break between quarters. Nobody really finds that guy fun...but everybody has to respect him, for doing the right thing. That's what keeps me appreciative of the character at least.

I personally find the Smallville character of Clark Kent, as portrayed by Tom Welling, fascinating.

Well that's because they All-Star'd him up, with a nice non-continuity take on the character. If we were following the tales of actual clark kent, in smallville, from the books...television audiences would be bored to tears. No lex, no super heroics, no Lois. None of that would be happening. They spiced it up, added to the supporting cast, and mixed it with the right amount of teen drama, meets coming of age story (which was the formula previously used by Buffy, and before that, Saved by The Bell...both successful, youth driven programs). The Smallville formula works well. That's why i've seen 5 and a half out of six seasons. It's good stuff.

I'd enjoy that more than "Mercy Reef".

how long will it take before GA,Aquaman, and the Flash team up with Clark? Will Clark ever wear some kind of costume?sorry if these questions seem stupid but I,ve been out of touch with smallville for a while:csad:

1)The episode that brings together Clark, Cyborg, Aquaman, Flash and Green Arrow, is titled "Justice." It happens later in the season. Green Arrow is on board for at least seven episodes. Considering that Ollie has already been in three episodes (but only one as Green Arrow) we have maybe 4-6 more episodes before things finally go down.

2)As far as I know, Mark Millar and Alfred Gough are still on the "no tights/no capes" policy. So this little frat gathering of heroes, seems to have Clark behaving as we have typically seen him.

i read up on green arrow on wikipedia. it says that in some versions he was trained by bruce wayne or something. i think it would be much cooler had Green Arrow helped set up batman. im really starting to dislike batman though, with "how he can beat anyone" crap going around, its killing the character for me

At first,he came off real stiff and prickish.

In the episodes after though, alot of the charm and wit Ollie has came through.

GA has gotten some great character development the last few espisodes......he's easily means as much to the show as Clark or Lex right now.

first of all !
It''d would be too costly to get the batman on this show because of copyright and all !
beside it'd be not as quite as fun !

you can get the green arrow to do more fun stuff with his arrow (it's more belivable than bat-arrow and other bat stuff)
and I also think it's better to introduce new character in the DC univers instead of the usual ones that we've already seen in live action.
at this time the bat is training and is not ready at all.
clark would have made him look like a fool.

lots of bratfan are expecting the Batman to show up and steal the show :whatever:

I hope in one episode that clark will be thrown in the far future and he can meet kamandi the last boy on earth .

I dig him even though he's a darker version of the Green Arrow I remember...Reminded me of a wise-cracking Daredevil actually...Oh well. I just figure he's a GA and Arsenal mix and I deal with it fine...That and he hasn't died yet so his perspective on things isn't nearly as it is currently.

I dug the idea of Ollie being a bully. Now the plane crash makes sense as some kind of karma...He pretty much is a bully that happens to be on the side of good anyway.

I have no idea what I'm rambling on about but I like Smallville Ollie....Comic Ollie's way better though.

Hell no! I love the character so far, and I can't wait to see what how he'll be developed next.

I seriously want a spinoff with Justin in the role. There's a lot of legit potential in it.

yea a spinoff would be great if

1. they modeled the show after the unused Bruce Wayne script
2. explained his parents death and him on the island
3. showed how he became the green arrow and dont start him out with the gettup already
4. had a really good supporting cast.

I imagine that such an attempt would get no futher than Mercy Reef did.
