It's too late to make a review thread (I got it on Monday, but was too lazy to write it up). So instead, I'll just ask what you guy's thought of the "interaction" between Spidey and MJ? I think after a time, MJ will definately be a part of this cast again. Let us all know in an hour or so.

And I'm calling it now: Vin and MJ will be an item. I have my reasons....

I honestly thought she wouldn't appear this soon. But it was a nice appearance, and I really look forward to when she'll rejoin the cast proper.

Yea i'm not sure why they thought he was getting removed like that. I'm glad it's not happening also.

I'm also getting my copy soon. :yay:

Well caved in and purchased this issue and the original issues of this story arc. I kept on inching towards buying a BND issue after dropping the title. The "return" of MJ kind of helped me make this decision. The storyline was actually pretty solid. I mean, its a bit painful to watch MJ kiss Carr and be in this relationship...but still Dan Slott is a hell of a writer. However, it's obvious that MJ remembers "everything" that happened. So why the hell is she in this relationship to begin with? MJ has to have something else up her sleeve. I can't imagine her just laying over and not trying to make things right somehow.

Oh..and the scenes with Spidey and MJ "teaming" up were great...and heartbreaking at the same time. I'm really praying that Marvel has some plan up their sleeves to bring these two back together even if it's as a romantically involved "non" married couple. Whatever the case, I just want Peter and MJ together cause anything else feels so unnatural.

Oh and Paper doll is pretty freaky. I really enjoyed the concept behind the character.

And what about the whole Sara Ehret thing eh? It seems she's a big fan of MJ, so maybe that might explain why Jackpot looks so much like her and talks like her. But why then would Jackpot outright tell Spiderman her identity in #550???

I looked through this, let's see.....

MJ and cop roommate guy are definately getting together. MJ still knows everything but apparently this makes her need to plot and play people? This now makes MJ the new Black Cat.

The dialogue was good but the story was a straight up obvious morality tale that felt a bit phoned in. This was not slott's best work by any means. Pete makes the obvious mistake, has the villian (who really lost a lot by not being fleshed out in any interesting way other than standard plot device) exemplify that mistake, realizes his mistake and tries to correct it.

The Sara Ehret thing was by far the most interesting aspect in the issue.

The art was fing great. Martin for the most part nails the book with a natural flair.

MJ dating someone else. My wallet thanks me further for not wasting its contents!

I was just through the issue again, and I caught something that I missed before. In the opening sequence, Paper Doll's mailbox has the name Dali. I caught this the first time, and thought Slott thought he was being cute, because she looks like a Dali painting. But then I put 2 an 2 together: Piper Dali....Paper Doll. Grooooaaaaann!! Oh the Humanity. Slott, that was just wonderfully terrible. Best laugh of the day for me.

Sara Ehret seems like a waste of a character to me now. Am I thrilled that MJ isn't some type of super hero now? Yes I am. But come on now, she's a huge fan of MJ which is why she copies all the lines and so on. If they're looking for some female partner for Spider-man, just use Black Cat.

Like I mentioned before...MJ dating someone else...It's hard to read. She obviously knows that her and Spider-man were together in "another" life. So why the hell is she with some other guy? Ah well...I'm going to have to accept this cause unfortunately this is the angle that Marvel is going to run with for a while. If I want my 616 Spider-man fix, I have no choice but to try and deal with this.

Also...Peter has been acting like a d**k throughout this storyline. Very out of character the way he was being so petty with this paparazzi shots.

Yeah I didn't really like that whole "Piper Dali" thing. Thought it lowered the tone of the story. But whatever.

Apart from that, I absolutely loved this issue. Marcos Martin's sumptuous art will be sorely missed next week. Hope he returns soon.

I do agree with some others that seeing MJ with another man is abit jaring at first. And I called way back in the last part of OMD that MJ's side-deal with Mephisto was to let her remember (more painful that way, knowing what's been lost).

And the final Jackpot-MJ-Sara Ehret twist was fantastic! Simple. But supberb. What with all the suggestions that maybe she was MJ's Sister and such I found great delight in the fact that she's just a HUGE Mary Jane Watson fan. Although, it is slightly convenient that her facial features look so similar to MJ's. But I still liked it.

Also, why is everybody so sure that Vin and MJ are going to hook up? I saw nothing in this issue to provoke such an assumption. That would completely mess up the Vin-Carlie-Peter love triangle!

I don't know that MJ remembers. She could just be refering to their reltionship in the past.

Great issue... brilliant in every way... just plain fun comics that leave you waiting for the nexr issue...

And I like the break between months, taking away from all the "villain-of-the month" complaints, or "arc of the month" complaints...

Things certainly are picking up after the first general "every writer gets their feet wet" four months...

:word: :word: :word:

:yay:

Another amaning/brilliant/satisfying Issue! MJ was so awesome and the action really blew me away. Also, the art was once again unavaoidable because of how great it is and I'm so happy about that.

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't get the whole Piper Dali thing. Can someone please explain?

Slott writes Spidey perfectly, he's able to balance Spidey's humor with his serious side unlike some other writers who write him like a stupid clown *cough*Bendis and Guggenheim*cough*. I am so pumped for "New Ways to Die" with John Romita Jr!

Just some thoughts. a brief review if you will...

This issue was good. proves slott should of been on the title alooooong time ago.
Paper doll is a great addition to Spidey's rouge gallery. she balances both creepy and silly. and I think that's what makes a great Spidey villian in the first place. look at the goblin and even venom (sense of humor)

I'm not too impressed with the new direction that is being taken with Mj...but this is essentially her character. (its just sad to see her regressed. but you can say the same for peter)
and Sara Ehret has become seemingly a waste of a character...but i still feel as if there's something that has been over looked in these pages.

It is VERY clear now that the rumors about MJ remembering everything is true.
look at her eye's and the way she says "we've met in another life."
whats holding her back and making her date guys like Carr is still unclear. but than again there was a scene where he VERY obviously mirrored pete. (he's mentioning bobby carr is his mask. and losing that would of drove him nuts. same as spidey and civil war)

Another reason for us to believe MJ is Jackpot is because during the issue where Jackpot and Spidey teams up. she comments on him always making jokes. Mj does the same thing in this issue.

i would say this issue is about a 3.5/5 not bad...just one of those good fun issues thats building up to something greater.

What does Spidey/Red Sonja have do with the price beans? Seriously I'm lost?

Spidey was constantly referred to as "Man-Spider" during that mini... :woot:

:yay:
