Amazon to begin producing theatrical films

This is very exciting. Others will only follow now.

Wow, this is interesting. Perhaps Netflix will get in on this as well. I'd love to see Netflix make their theatrical debut with an Arrested Development movie.

this will blow up in their face, Amazon has made too many stupid moves over the years, I doubt this suddenly works out for them.

They will all be really terrible but for some odd reason they will get the hightest ratings on Amazon.com. Then people on here will fall for it. They'll see the 10,000 5/5 star Amazon reviews and believe them to be the greatest movies ever made. Amazon will line the pockets of Academy members and they will be nominated for BEST PICTURE of the year. Even though no one really watched them.

Amazon might end up doing what other studios won't and make original blockbusters. Fingers crossed more tech companies get in on this, it will seriously shake things up in Hollywood if tech companies start producing films because many will have something traditional studios won't - user data.

Is that supposed to be a criticism to the Acadey not nominating the usual CGI action films around? Because good films aren't at fault for the mainstream public not watching them, in least they get some recognition outside the boxoffice.
