To all my fellow American posters, friends and family...HAVE A SAFE AND LOVELY THANKSGIVING ESPECIALLY SAFE ON BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!

I wonder what everyone's plans are for the holiday for tomorrow?

On my way now to my aunt's to celebrate today. Lots work Thur. so my aunt is holding it today. My mom and grandma are there already. Haven't had anything since a burrito and some iced tea last night around 8pm. Leaving lots of room.

Dinner with the i laws and the probably a nice long nap. :p

since my daughter and the grandchildren moved out and out of state, it's just another day as any other to me... no biggie...

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

We plan on a quiet day....sleep just a little later than usual, watch some Macy's Parade, have a good lunch, watch a movie or two. No black Friday madness for us.

I'm Native American, so I grew up with the "Thanksgiving is horrible" lectures. But I think that it's evolved over time into a festival that celebrates family and friends, thanking (insert your choice of deity here) for everything that we have in life. Plus, you know, lots of food.

Also, tonight is the busiest night of the year for drinking.

I actually love hearing the traditions here...sounds lovely

I try to think of the day as for being thankful as well. I have been blessed with wonderful in laws and enjoy the big family meals. Most of my family is gone so it's been wonderful to have them. :)

I'll be spending time with my wife's family at Cracker Barrel (1st time doing that, which is weird, but I love Cracker Barrel... so I'm game) and then we'll be heading to my Aunt's house to celebrate with my family. It's our first holiday without my grandmother, so it'll be a little difficult, but I look forward to it.

Gives me an oppertunity to talk my uncle into trading me Larry Fitzgerald for my playoff run in Fantasy Football. :)

On the train home now, filled to bursting with turkey, yellow rice and beans, stuffing, pumpkin pie, cookies, sweet potatoes and some kind of chocolate infused wine. We played games after. It was fun.

What sort of games?

That tablet on the head thing Ellen does, Trivial Pusuit and something I came up with where you improv a movie pitch based on a title someone comes up with I call These Things Write Themselves.

Probably going out on Black Friday just to be ironic. I never go to actually shop, just to observe the circus.

I'm going to see Justice League on Friday, as far away from a mall as I can get. :p

Mom and I are home for Thanksgiving this year but I want to tell about a couple of rather bad turkey days.

In 1989, when I was in high school, a few days before the holiday...I got food poisoning! Even worse, my cousins who live in Danbury and whose wedding my mom and I attended that March, came for a visit. So there I was eating rice and potato instead of turkey. But...that Christmas, mom and I fed some seniors at The Knights of Columbus here in Greenwich. And we had turkey that day.

In 2014, when I was a freelancer at News 12, our local cable news channel...I had to work that day in the newsroom. It felt kind of weird to be out of the house that day. But they had things all catered for the newsroom...however i had some lunch prior to the start of my shift at 1:00PM and going till 10:30 that night. Even worse, I worked "Black Friday" as well. The worst was Christmas...that night I was crying while driving home. :csad:

Now...being as I live near NYC and am blessed sometimes to have WPIX Channel 11, for years and years they have aired Laurel and Hardy in March of The Wooden Soldiers...albeit the colored version in recent years. And what WPIX used for their opening and closing bumper music...to coin a term...was the instrumental Santa's Got a Brand New Bag by the Hollyridge Strings.

I do know that I would love to hear what everyone's plans are for today but also am curious to know what kind of traditions you all have every year for Thanksgiving not that you mind me asking

Yes have a great Thanksgiving guys!! ;)

And yes a good warning to be safe on Black Friday lol. Go out in your riot gear only.

Yeah I know Black Friday is going to be like murder especially here in Canada tomorrow!!! Going to do my shopping tomorrow as well but I am merely going too to observe the circus tomorrow as well!!!

I can only imagine what it will be like for you Americans tomorrow for Black Friday

Knowing the malls it is going to be like murder tomorrow!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody

had the day off work, not having any other family over this year, so just keeping it casual with immediate family at my sisters for dinner, but, even just immediate family for me is still 8 people(4 adults, 4 kids) so...

no Black Friday shopping for me, back to work for me at 4 am Friday lol
(I normally do an over night Thursday nights but, cause we close early for the Holiday, I have to wait till morning to make up that work)

Happy Thanksgiving!

It is pouring rain here all day, so I'm stuck in watching the parade and football on TV.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

It'll be the typical dinner; all the fun starts tonight.
I'll be heading out to see Justice League again and do
some sight-seeing in the nearest city to see how Black Friday is out there.

My day began with a bag of microwaveable popcorn :) Happy Thursday or Thanksgiving to all.
