sooo...i dunno if anyone else here is into dancing, but i like to dance so i definitely caught the premiere of this show. there are some CRAZY crews with some off the wall dances. this show had 3 rounds with 3 crews in each round so that's 9 crews. i'd say i was floored by at least 5 of them and 2 of them were pretty good. the other 2 weren't that great.

my fave was Kaba Modern. they did such a great job with their choreography, timing, and hype. not to mention they picked out the best song imo. all 3 of the crews that the judges picked for safe passes were great but i also give hats off to Jabbawockeez and Iconic. i honestly don't know why Iconic was one of the last 2 to have to battle it out. i really thought Femme 5 was the weakest with Enigma following them, but surprisingly Femme 5 made it.

so...tonight's episode was okay. they mixed it up a bit by giving the crews specific videos that they had to mimic while also incorporating their own style. once again my fave crew, Kaba Modern, delivered but i thought the best performance of the night were the Jabbawockeez. MTV gave them a song that helped them shine.

i was genuinely impressed with Live in Color, they pulled off 'Hey Mamma' VERY well. Iconic was pretty good as well, but MTV did Status Quo dirty by giving them the only song that was over 10 years old...'U Can't Touch This' by MC Hammer. i thought they did a great job with the song but ANY dance crew (even professional ones) would have had a hard time making that choreography look bangin'.

also, even though i thought they did a much better job than their last performance i honestly don't think BreakSk8 is that gr8. they don't look very energetic when they dance and their gimmick (roller skates) hinder their moves to the point where they're less like dance moves and more like skater moves. as for Fysh n Chicks...they did alright. they were sassy but MTV gave them Beyonce's 'Freakum Dress' which honestly doesn't have great choreography so i can't blame the crew. i AM glad that Femme 5 got eliminated though. they did a much better job this show but they're just not as dynamic or entertaining as the other crews are.

Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez are my favorites to go to the finals. The fact that Kaba Modern is Korean (my mom is Korean) gives them the slightly biased edge, performance aside.



I was glad to see Femme 5 get the boot, too. Fysh n Chicks or BreakSk8 need to be the next ones to go. I agreed with everything you said above about them.

Fysh n Chicks ain't too bad....i actually like them better than BreakSk8. i think BreakSk8 is depending a lot on their boy band vibe to get the girl voters.

i, too, must admit me being Asian gives me a slight bias towards Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern, but they'd probably be my 2 fave crews even if i were green.

I felt that Status Quo should have got voted off this week. I slowly started to love BreakSk8, and I felt that they were the dark horses to win. If we really break it down, BreakSk8 have been the ones that got steadily better. Status Quo have been the ones that got steadily worse, and with their performance on the Michael Jackson episode, they should have gotten the boot.

After the Thriller tribute I thought Status Quo & Kabba Modern, yes Kabba Modern , should have been in the bottom 2. I loved BreakSk8's tribute & I can't believe they weren't in the top with Jabba.

After the Broadway theme it has too be Status Quo & Kabba Modern. Jabbawockeez were sick. I really dug their outfit.

to be honest, status quo is tier below kaba modern and jabbawockeez.

jabbawockeez has a lot of creativity and athleticism and kaba modern is easily the cleanest, most technical crew of the show. they also have the best transitions.

status quo is sloppy and they rely too much on their stunts.

This is clearly an East vs West thing. Kaba and Jabbawockeez are both from the West Coast so they're splitting the votes, while Status Quo, from Beantown are getting the full support of the East Coast. Now when it comes down to both groups, Status Quo vs Jabbawockeez, it will all acome down to what coast rises to the occassion. I can easily see Status Quo pull this one out in an upset. But Jabbawockeez has been the best group from day one. And please, never mention BreakSk8 again.

anywho, to be perfectly honest, i like Status Quo but i don't think they deserve to be in the top 3. maybe top 4 or 5 but they've messed up a few times already. other groups have only messed up once. their flips and stunts are sick, but they (especially Enoc, their leader) have simply messed up too much. i really enjoyed watching Live In Color more than i do Status Quo.

anyway...kinda glad Break Sk8 got the boot. even though they've gotten a lot better their skates still restrict them from pulling off a lot of cool dance moves. i think the Jabbawockees already have this in the bag. they've become my favorites ever since they did the dance craze show and performed to "Lean With It". their performance to Michael Jackson's "PYT" was just ridiculously good. even with their last performance to "All That Jazz" (one of my favorite Broadway songs) i still like their PYT performance the best. if they don't win, i'll be genuinely surprised.

as for tonight's episode...i know there was a spoiler posted, but i hope Status Quo gets the boot.

I just don't get it. Status Quo is just not as good as Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern. Seriously, all bias aside, Status Quo is just not as good as them. They rely too much on the stunts, and not on creativity and the theme of the episode (last week, they didn't even follow the theme of the episode fully). They are sloppy at times. If we really break this down, Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern have received nothing but praise from the judges, while the same has not been for Status Quo. Many times, sloppiness gets brought up, and especially when they dropped the ball two weeks ago, where I felt, if this were a legit contest instead of a popularity contest, BreakSk8 had them beaten and should have got 3rd place.

All in all, Status Quo is simply a fluke. It should be Kaba Modern vs. Jabbawockeez in the finals.

Jabbawockeez is absolutely the BEST EVER!!!! Putting Status Quo in the finals makes no sense to me at all!!! It really should have been Kaba vs Jabba!!!
