An idea on how to see Welling as Superman in a movie.

How would you feel that after SV they do a movie like Ultimate Avengers only Superman: Birthright with the cast of SV doing the voicing and have their likeness? I think that would be a huge hit and would give alot of people what they want. Because even though we may never see him take to the sky and fight crime as Superman we may see it through this. I mean sure you kill Pa Kent off in the story I feel that it still could fly and be a great idea if done right.

I could live with or with out seeing him in the suit. I think the best thing to do would be to spin SV into a Superman show. I mean I know orginaly it was said that Welling didn't want to down the suit but come on it's the one thing that has launched him to super stardom.

No, I'm not kidding.....after ALL he has done on Smallville/Metropolis for 5+ seasons, the suit in no way serves as 'validation' that he is Kal-El on Smallville. In my mind, it SHOULD end with them showing the suit for no more than a few moments. (Cue the Williams theme) And *poof* the journey of Clark Kent becoming Superman is complete.

We've seen him do everything except wear the suit up till now.....The payoff was never Clark in the suit for the final episode, it was the continuing search to find out what he was meant to do...to make that final choice about what his place on earth is.

I've always envisioned the show ending that way.
