Alan Tudyk Opens Up on Bringing His "Smartass" Droid K-2SO to 'Andor' Season 2 [Exclusive]
“Yeah, I’m gonna be in it. I can't tell you how much, so I still have secrets and I can't say anything about it, but it was fun to be back with Diego Luna."
“ Tony Gilroy is a very skilled writer. He's a big-brained guy. It’ll be interesting for people to see K-2SO in that world because he was such a smartass , ...

For context those ^ are cobbled clips from the general preview, likely obvious (music) and first lines are not Andor)

Seeing allot of fun circumstantial parallels here; Lost sibling, directionless on the run from the law...
"When the pupil is ready, the master will appear"
Steals a TIE fighter, reckless causes explosions...

Luthen literally leads a secret double life, that of an upper-class noble, secretly training a thief (with nothing to lose) to find something bigger than himself, and take up the fight.
Common tropes no doubt, just saying, the parallels here are rife.

Love it, one of my favorite aspects of R1, was seeing the recognizable Yavin, yet like the camera had briefly turned away from the action and heroes of A New Hope, and suddenly turned to focus on the unsung heroes, those who don't get the recognition, medals, or parade at the end.

“I mean, we have to end up in Yavin, right? So, we’ll tell the story of Yavin. No-one has quite dealt with Yavin the way we will be doing it.”
Besides having a personal connection to the temples at Tikal Guatemala; their consequential use in SW always fascinated me. I know there were some loose legends canon explorations, yet always wanted a further in-universe look at Yavin in live-action.
Particularly if Lucas had in mind any backstory for it, considering some of the more peculiar McQuarrie concepts. Especially that last one...

Though I'm kind of blown away by this artists edit, my whole life I saw a Cthulhu like alien skull there, now I can't unsee a couple of robed figures, observing a planet?

Curious what Gilroy and co, have in mind as far as "the story of Yavin" any of it's past, and of course how the Rebels came to settle there.

"The critical appreciation of the show was really helpful, if not essential, in helping Disney choke down the price of what this is. In terms of creative notes, no-one has come to me and said, ‘No, they shouldn't say that.’"-- Tony Gilroy

Yeah, thankfullt the Disney-Story-Group, has apparently always been kept at a distance by Gilroy, and it shows in the quality of story and character of the show.

Andor's cleaned up look, is really throwing me, yet he is a spy, not sure what they are after here?

Andor & Bix, it's killing me anticipating she likeley doesn't get to survive all this.

Mothma's new look, love how Gilroy is balancing this story, and both sides of the Rebellion.
One side the damaged, grittier Andor (and at the other extreme seemingly pristine Mothma and the champaign rebels).
Luthen between the two.
Looks like Troopers finally sniffing about the ivory towers of the elite.

These two navigating the imperial bureaucracy (and themselves), has been surprisingly creepy and fascinating, now add Krennic into the mix.

According to the experts a TIE Avenger.
