That really sucks, because his score was probably one of my favorite parts of Season 1.

I just have a feeling that it’s not going to be up to par with what was established and it’s going to be distracting enough that it’s sort of takes me out and I’m not able to stop thinking about it.

Hopefully not someone major like Jimmy Smitts as Bail Organa. That would be annoying if schedule conflicts or something.

“Legacy characters are really tricky to bring back. They’re very, very expensive. A lot of times, their schedules don’t work out,” Gilroy shares. “There’s probably a couple people that we wanted to have in Yavin at the end, who are in the beginning of Rogue, but we just couldn’t get them because they were busy.”

Honestly, that quote sounds like he's talking about General Draven.

Hopefully as there’s not as much history with the character.

I think specifically why Bail would throw me is now we’ve had Smitts not only appearing in Rogue One but Obi-Wan as well. I’d almost rather not use the character at all if that was the case.

I did some more googling. Obviously nothing is certain but apparently…

Benjamin Bratt was photographed hanging out with the Andor crew which of course now has people speculating he could be playing Bail.

Again, only speculation so hopefully as Sithborg pointed out, it could be a more minor character.

He said “the beginning of Rogue One”, so I’m maybe he’s talking about General Draven and General Dodonna because those are legacy characters, especially the latter, and they both basically only show up near the beginning of the film together in this scene:



Bail Organa doesn’t show up until very late in the film.

I also thought it might be Tarkin. He obviously also recast Yularen.

We pretty much getting a 3-act movie every week, for 4 weeks.

It's great. We're essentially already four movies in. Toby Haynes (Ferrix and Narkina 5), Susanna White (Aldhani), and Benjamin Caron (Daughter of Ferrix).

Now, we get four more by Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios. Can't wait!

So the legacy character that’s been recast is finally revealed in one of the reviews for those who want to know beforehand.

Benjamin Bratt is replacing Jimmy Smitts as Bail Organa.

I’m surprised they just didn’t announce this beforehand so people get used to it.

You can definitely hear a bit of a difference from Nicholas Britell‘s style, but it still feels and sounds like it should. Seems like this composer did his homework. Definitely assuages my concerns about the score not being up to par and taking me out.

And, from a tone perspective, it would make sense for the score to shift from something a bit more slower and melancholic to something a bit more bombastic and intense, since we’re really getting into the thick of it with the building conflict between the growing Rebellion and the Empire leading up to Rogue One.
