Well from what i understand Angels and Demons is Langdons first appearance in these books. It is a decent read and would make an interesting movie an di think more suitble for film. I can see these as the new Clancy kind of films. What i mean is that Harrison for made Jack Ryan good. Hanks could hita gold mine with Langdon. There is also suppose to be a third book coming up about Robert Langdon. I bet they planned on making it a three adventure movie deal. Only they were waiting to see if DVC would find and audiance.

Speaking of book 3, The Solomon Key, I hope they keep the talk about the dollar bill in A&D in the conversation between Vittoria and Langdon on the way to the Vatican. That gives a great allusion to the third story which is a good way to connect them as a trilogy.

The best way to fill the void of a relatively slow news day is with a slightly outlandish rumor about Steven Spielberg. As you all know, THE DA VINCI CODE made close a bajillion dollars (that's a billion jillion, by the way) in its first three days of release and is expected to make another forty or fifty bajillion from its entire theatrical run. And factoring in DVD sales, the movie stands to make an astronomically obscene amount of money that's so vast, it'll likely have its own category(davincillion?). It's no surprise, therefore, that Sony is moving forward with the prequel ANGELS AND DEMONS and have already locked DA VINCI CODE writer Akiva Goldsman to adapt the book. What is surprising, however, is a rumor "Sky News" is reporting that Sony is looking to Steven Spielberg to direct the film as there's no reason to give up Ron Howard and a formula that evidently worked astoundingly well. Although in the hands of Spielberg, the movie could turn out to be loads better than DA VINCI CODE. No disrespect to Howard cause the man is clearly "da bomb" but Spielberg is better versed in the "summer tentpole thriller" arena. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think???? Would Speilberg be a better choice than Ron if this movie is made?

I'm watching the Da Vinci Code on DVD right now, at before it starts, it says Angels and Demons is currently in production...any one have info on this, both books are good, A & D is terrific, better then Da Vinci IMO. hopefully Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Robert Langdon.

A&D was a terrific book, and not because i have a subconscious desire to see the leaders of my religion gunned down.

i kid, i kid...

the movie will be terrible. akiva goldsman can't write for ****.

ha i cant tell if your being sarcastic about the book be terrific or not....i loved it. i agree the movie will probably be bad. i dont even think it should be made. the Da Vinci Code movie was alot different from the book in many ways, and i dont want to see that done with A&D too.

Yes, their making a movie for Angels and Demons. I think it will be great.

As great as "The Da Vinci Code" movie? Please. :whatever:

Dan Brown's writing style simply doesn't lend itself to a really good movie adaptation. Maybe the screenwriters suck, but Brown's novels have a lot of extraneous information that is, to be quite honest, difficult and boring to tell the audience in movie format.

the screenwritting sucked in DVC and Ron Howard did his best National Treasure interpretation with the direction of the movie, those are the two biggest flaws in my opinion

I enjoyed the Da Vinci Code movie, eventhough it was significantly diff from the book, it was still alot of fun.

by the way longshot, your top 10 sucks.. lol:oldrazz:

i wasnt being sarcastic about the book, i really loved it.

but i can't fathom a movie adaptation of some source material done by the man who thinks taking batman back to his roots is to reinvent the 60s tv series in the 90s.

Ugh. Dan Brown can't write for ****, and the one thing that didn't totally blow about his novel; the concept of the story(the one thing that should have carried over and made a good film) wound up making a film even worse than the book.

Count me out of anything else Dan Brown related, be it book or film.

Says one of the 13 people who didn't like the DVC book.

Dan Brown cant write worth a ****??? tell that to the new york times....Best seller of all time unless i misread that.

Technically, the Bible is the best selling book of all time.

Followed by the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Followed by Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way.

To be quite frank, I get the impression that the majority of the people who cite Dan Brown as a good writer and the Da Vinci Code as a good book are people who don't read much at all(IE much of the public).

If they did, then they wouldn't think it was such a good book by such a good writer... because it's not.

At least you're not being a jerk about it.

I bet you're racist

It would not make since if Tom Hanks would not play the same character. The women lead has to be Selma Heyak in my book or Monica Bellucci. But for my second choice to play Robert Langdon it would be Viggo Mortenson or Johnny Depp.

Angels and Demons will be a better movie than the Da Vinci Code. The book is excelent. I hope Tom Hanks keep his role as Langdon but the director should change.

The Person who wrote the screen play should change.
