From the SHH! Front page:

ComingSoon.net talked to Anna Paquin about her new movie, Blue State, but also got some comments from the "X-Men" franchise star about the Wolverine spinoff. Here's a clip:

CS: You were signed to do three "X-Men" movies, so if they get around to making a "Wolverine" movie, would you still be interested in playing the character or are you over it and want to move on?
Paquin: I mean, you know, I think it would be like anything else. I loved the people I worked with and they are people I've known now for a really long time, as far as a lot of the creative people behind and in the movie. If it was something that was really interesting and exciting and I got to do something cool, of course I'd want to do it, just like anything. It would be very nice to do more of that if the timing works out or whatever.

Visit the link above for more.

Good to know she's open to it. But if Wolverine is going to be a prequel, that won't work.

not for wolverine but for X4 it sounds good. Message to Fox - give Rogue something cool to do and anna will do it!

I have no clue why you would need Rogue for Wolverine. Maybe like a tie in with whats currently going on so we have like Wolverine/X-4. I dont know if anyone followed what I just said. But basically we have like a "currently" then a flashback which is the movie then bringing us back to the current point in time. I think Ill shut up now..

I wish Paquin would pull a Berry and fight for her character to be better and stronger because honestly X4, Wolverine, ect I don't care I don't want any more of that Singer/Ratner weak ass whining version of Rogue any more. The first movie I could understand but we also got her in 2 and three and that is more than enough.

In the second movie Rogue was becoming more stronger, more confident, and less weak. Blame Ratner for going backwards in that department. I think it'd be interesting to have Rogue in an X4, but for a Wolverine film? No. I think Wolverine's film should consist of Logan, Sabretooth, Maverick, Silver Fox, and of course his experimentation in the Weapon X facility.

Of course that's how I look at it.

I really, really hope we see Omega Red in the future. Part of me wants this Logan film to fail just so it could wake up Fox, on the other hand I want to see the story done right and not watered down like X3. Logan's story needs to be gritty, violent, dark, suspenseful, and very sci-fi to an extent.

Agreed. I'm more interested in finally seeing a more confident Rogue in costume. Basically getting some real action which i was hoping she'd do in X3.No more teenage drama Rogue.....

"So, Anna Paquin, would you like to play Rogue again in the Wolverine prequel, despite the fact that, not only has Rogue never met Wolverine before the events of X1, but she was most likely not even born yet during the events of the Wolverine prequel? We know this question makes absolutely no sense, but we can still spin a story for our sister website out of your generic response that every actor gives for these types of questions."

:whatever:

Since it is a prequel, and someone mentioned the idea of it ending with the beginning of X1, I could see her doing a cameo for the absolute end of the film. But that's about it.

I'm glad she isn't open or closed to doing more films, just more interested in a good role. That forces the studio to step up the quality of an X4.

Anna Paquin is a good actress and deserves something better than what she get in X2 and X3, specially X3. So Fox, it's time to do it, but of course, that would be in X4, Rogue in this movie hasn't any sense.

^Agreed. Would be cool if they started a Rogue movie though....

My friend, Fox are NOT Mike Carey. :woot:

You won't even get a fifth of what you want to see. :woot:

isnt the wolverine movie set before the 1st X-men so he wouldnt of known Rogue. so how can she be in it???

Anna Paquin hardly looks like Rogue...Can barely act the part...Rogue is suppose to be athletic and have that good accent....She use to always say "Sugga" Anna hasn't said that in a movie yet...I wouldn't want her to actually try that accent, b/c it would be hinderous. They need a new rogue. Some really in shape and looks like Rogue...They also need Rogue's hair super curl like in the comics!

I don't think that's fair. For what they did with Rogue (and you can argue they shouldn't have gone that direction), Anna was perfectly cast, and acted brilliantly.

As far as taking EVERYTHING from the comics, that's just ridiculous. They actually gave the character some complexity, instead of a Southern stereotype. God forbid.

MY perception of rogue was the one from the 90s cartoon. When i saw this young girl with no flying or power i was hugely disappointed. But she kind of grew on me throughout the films. But she doesnt belong in Wolverine. Their would simply be no place for her.
