If she's the Supremor or the MCU equivalent in that scene I think that what's happening isn't in the physical world but a telepathic conversation between Carol and it with the Intelligence using an image from Carol's memories.

Why is she dressed like an Earthling.

 

If this is the case I wonder about the implications of that. Gunn was teasing Quasar for Guardians 3 before being fired and there are consistent rumors that they're doing something with Young Avengers. Are we going to get a big Vell family? And if so, she would've had kids with 3 men from 3 species. Not quite Ego, but still quite the achievement.

 

I agree. I think the supreme intelligence has taken on the appearance of someone who could be subconsciously comforting to Carol. My bet is that she’s either Carol’s mom, or possibly Carol’s mentor from the comics. Her name was Helen Cobb and she was a huge part of Carol’s life.

I was really hoping she would be Mar-Vell, but oh well.

 

I'm pretty okay with that, guess we all figured it was likely.

*Shrugs* Meh, not ideal, but I get why they'd do it. Plus we have zero context for it, it could pretty easily be a "projection" of sorts, appearing in a form that beings can understand, maybe only a few Kree higher-ups know the full extent of what it is and stuff, it just appears to the rank-and-file as a flesh-and-blood Kree.

At least it means she's got a significant part, it's not like casting Glenn Close to say three lines of exposition and congratulate the team at the end for kicking ass. Probably a little more Robert Redford//Tilda Swinton type of meat to it, hopefully anyway.

 

She just announced on Colbert that she's playing The Supreme Intelligence, so regardless of whatever other funny business may be going on with her character, that's her official title until further notice!
