Another Fatal Shooting in a movie theater

This is the world the *United States* is living in now.

Most countries do not have these type of problems. Maybe the U.S. should re-assess its outliers (easy access to weapons), if they really want things like this to end.

And Gun Control still not being an issue in the states...

FFS.

Atleast the gun man is one of the dead. Still, one innocent soul lost. Damn it.

Ignoring gun control is just making the problem worse, as shootings go on and crime increases more people will buy guns for defense. The sooner gun control is brought into America the better. Here in Australia it takes 7 months to get a gun license and you need a safe for the guns and you may only use them for hunting purposes. It is insane that in America you can get a gun license so quickly and then be able to carry it around the streets.

* Cue gunowner coming in and saying, "guns aren't the issue" *

So I see this remains as relevant as ever.

Either that or the "No, this is the time for mourning!!!" people.

Guns are part of the issue. Does nobody understand general systems theory?

I have a young son who is the love of my life. We enjoy going to movies together. And even though I know you can't live in fear, it really does make me second guess doing these things now. This wasn't some midnight show. It was a 7 pm show on a Thursday.

I won't get into a debate about gun control. But I will never understand those who think taking as many lives as possible will in any way help them deal with their own issues.

A big ass part...

No, just a part. Pretty much every Swiss male adult is armed due to conscription, they don't have gun related deaths. What's different there if guns are a 'big part' of why this happens?

At some point American society is going to need a bit of a dissection to see why this happens. But until that time everyone is going to focus on any other variable in the equation except the key one - the people.

I kind of lost all hope when the powers that be refused to do anything after 20 elementary school kids were gunned down. If that couldn't bring on any change nothing can.

I too think that is when I lost hope and most everyone else did. If you read the stories of how those innocent kids were systematically gunned down, and don't think there is a gun issue in this country, then nothing will.

Most other countries that have shootings like this on a regular basis tend to have wars going on in them.

It's funny how The News, The Government, Obama and pretty much the general public make a big deal out of the shootings right after they happen, which they are a big deal, but then after two weeks the event is just brushed under the carpet. Get what I mean?

I'm probably weird and look at things from a more philosophical standpoint, but I don't even understand why guns still need to exist in the first place. Why even have them at all? Screw gun control, just destroy all of them. Outlaw them. Make them forbidden, forever. From anyone. Cops included.

Yeah, it's impossible. But the simpleton part of my brain says, "If you get rid of all guns in the world, nobody can get shot, and nobody can shoot anybody." So there you have it.

It's impossible, someone will always make them and sell them under the table like drugs. It's like saying destroy all drugs, you just can't. It's the sad truth.

Guns are part of the world. If we didn't have guns we'd use knives, spears and axes.

Drugs are a bit different as many are just plants used in different ways. Guns we make ourselves.

Even if we did that,
And I am not against gun control, we could never get rid of everything that can be used to hurt someone.
If they didn't have access to guns, they would knives explosives, whatever they could get their hands on .
