Comics Another yet strange X-event or X-elseworld tale?

I'm sure many of you have seen these three teaser images for some mystery event/story that is upcoming:

But now here is the latest one to come out:

So, what do you think? If it is X-related, I can't see it being set in the 616 universe, so it has to be an alternate reality tale.

First one is Cyke, second is Rogue, third is Magneto, and fourth is obviously Gambit. It's definitely X-related.

I don't think so, thats just a bit of fanart; these are official marvel promos.

Thematically, the fanart has more of a 1920's gangster, while the promos have a more modern, almost Godfather-esque quality to them. Especially the Gambit image.

Just wondering. It's a nice peice of art. The pic above with Logan having a badge and a trench sort of jacket made me think of it.

That's why people are suspecting that it's an alternate reality.

The third one kinda reminds me of wolverine because of the hair. Though the purple coat does make me think its Magneto. IDK but this looks interesting. I have no idea why they have guns though, especially Cyclops who has a natural weapon.

We'll see. Events haven't exactly been kind to gambit in the last few years: HoM, BoA, MC, for example.

I thought it was Logan too.... it never once occured to me that it was Magneto...

It looked like Wolverine to me at first glance: the hair, the bloodthirsty look on his face, and the blood.

But theres other things that make me think Magneto: the white hair (although it could just be light reflecting on black hair), the purple coat, and it doesnt look like he's holding the badge, more like he's kind of levitating it in his hand.

Marvel Comics has unveiled a another new b&w teaser image, but this one with a few differences from the previous three.

Unlike the previous three images, this one all b&w and contains no spot color. And it also doesn't contain an "X", like two of the previous three, but instead features a symbol in the lower left which at first glance looks like an "X", but at closer inspection looks less like the letter.

This image was released apparently in advance of Monday evening's presentation to comic book retailers at Diamond's annual retailer summit. The publisher is promising a "jaw-dropping" presentation with details to be released on Tuesday.
