Keri Russell in Talks to Star in Guillermo del Toro-Produced Thriller 'Antlers' (Exclusive)
Days after landing a role in Star Wars: Episode IX, the actress is now in negotiations to team with Guillermo del Toro for Antlers, a supernatural horror thriller set up at Fox Searchlight.

Del Toro is producing the project with David Goyer and Miles Dale, who produced del Toro's Oscar-winning The Shape of Water. Scott Cooper, who helmed Crazy Heart and Black Mass, is directing.

If a deal is made, Russell will star as a teacher who takes an interest in a mysterious and withdrawn student. Only too late does she discover that the boy is harboring a deadly secret that is key to their town’s survival.

Nick Antosca and Henry Chaisson wrote the script.
Del Toro and Cooper seem like one helluva pair.

Let me say this: genre movies are in wonderful shape since the last couple of years.

I haven't seen Out of the Furnace but Crazy Heart and Hostiles were really good, so I'm interested in this, especially with GDT involved as well.

So glad to see Keri Russell getting these roles again :mnm:.

That tagline is an odd one, but that trailer!:up:

I’m going into this with some cautious optimism, the optimism part thanks to GDT’s endorsement. So far, all of Cooper’s movies have had the look of something I’d be really into but then turned out to fall short of that particular something.

I keep forgetting to read a script for this, maybe I'll manage before the movie is out. I read few pages and it seemed pretty atmospheric and creepy

Wow, now this looks like my kind of horror film. That trailer was creepy as hell, and while I'm not familiar with the short story it's based on I have a feeling I know where it's going. It definitely looks like it's going to involve somekind of supernatural creatures and I'm hoping it's Wendigos.

The kid's story makes me think it's a wendigo.

Now that is how a trailer is supposed to be. You can already tell what it's about with minimal dialogue.

Yeah that's an excellent trailer. It gives you so much while also giving you so little. I'm glad that we finally have a release date too. This movie looks awesome man.

I hope that kid is just a really great actor. His look of trauma is so authentic, I actually felt worried about him.

First trailer was great and this one is even better. When is this coming out? Didn't see it in the trailer.
