Meaning what its average or aproximate worth was in a particular year or part of a decade.
For instance if I wanted to find out what Giant sized X-Men #1 would have gone for in the late 80s or early 90s. It's pretty easy to find listings for what it's worth or costs now, but how about 15-20 years ago ?
