What are all your opinions on it?

I personally find it interesting.

The FLASHLIGHT thing was FREAKING ME OUT last night

It's one of my favorite shows. In fact, it probably is my favorite show. I can't get enough.

We have something similar in the UK. It's called Most Haunted. It's ok but the Scouse guy who 'gets in touch' with the spirits is hilarious :D

The show works well until he starts doing his thing and scares off the ghosts with his bad acting :o

oh yeah, he starts talking to them, and talking AS them. I've seen it

Love Ghost Hunters. And the flashlight thing was awesome. Ever watch Paranormal State. The Paranormal Research Society out of Penn State University? Now that is weird stuff. Definitely seems faked.

Interesting how two mods have replied and haven't moved it to the Misc. TV forum. Maybe I should open a Lovecraft thread here.

I can't get into the show . It seems like a con to me.

It's a pretty good show since there premise is trying to debunk ghost stories. They caught some pretty creepy stuff though like when they went to that lighthouse in Florida and you could hear a women crying help me from the top of the light house yet no one was up there.

This weeks episode was so overly hyped though. They were making it seem an aparition was going to appear and wave at the camera. All it was was a flashlight turning on by itself after one of the guys asked them. Next week looks pretty good though.

Been watchin it every wends day since as long as i can remember, i love the show.. i love the team and i love how they use technology to both prove and disprove the existence of the paranormal... Jason and grand are thee coolest guys ever, Steve and tango seem pretty chyll too.

Last nights episode was freaking crazy, at first i thought the flashlight was just ****ing up, but than when Jason asked the ghost/spirt if do it a few more times and it did i was like nooo freakin wayyy.

i love seeing episodes where they catch something great like that.

Wow, it's cool to see people here liking the show. It seems so many people are skeptical and immediately assume everything paranormal related is a farce.

I admit, after seeing blatantly faked ghost/paranormal shows, I was not too enthusiastic when my friend told me to watch the show. But, the idea of debunking the theories caught my attention.

What's interesting is that they very rarely catch real compelling evidence, and don't call a place haunted very often. If it is all fake, then they aren't doing a good job at it IMO.

And yeah, that flashlight thing gave me goosebumps. The picture thing the week before was pretty awesome as well. But, my favorite bit of evidence is of that soldier in the Crescent Hotel. Very creepy stuff. Thermal imagers shouldn't be able to pick up what kind of clothing you're wearing... the fact you could make out buttons and a hat kind of disproves the theory that it was a reflection.

I don't see the attraction.
I saw half an episode, and it seemed to be a couple dudes wandering through a building with night vision cameras saying "what was that? did you see something?"

Although, to be fair, I suppose It wouldn't be as boring if I believed in ghosts.

TAPS is now about 18 years old, and has never charged a penny for their investigations. Therefore, what do they have to gain by faking evidence.

Regarding the show, the TAPS crew don't get much from the show.

They'd have little benefit in risking their credibility (they are one of the most respected groups right now) for insignificant sums of money.

Could it be fake? Possibly, but I'd kindly doubt it. At worst, it is all able to be debunked by simple coincidences. If it is fake, than some of the reactions are pretty damn good acting - Jay looked genuinely surprised and scared when the flashlight thing happened. Given their experience in the field, they actually looked shooken up. Not normal in the show.

This, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iALFD0o6ovk seemed to be very convincing evidence. They tried to debunk it many times, and failed. This is the Crescent Hotel apparition I mentioned before (for those who haven't seen it). As I said before, you should not be able to make out details on thermal imaging cameras that what is seen on this apparition.

"I saw half an episode."

Yeah, that about sums it up.

Those "Did you see that OMG" moments are never factored into their overall decision in designating a location haunted or not. There have been times when the activity seemed to be hopping like crazy and they said, "Yeah, I had lots of experiences but I have to say that it's not haunted given the evidence."

It's all for entertainment, but the actual evidence is what matters. And, usually, they come up short and aren't afraid to admit it.

Well, you just confirmed my impressions of the show. I'm not going to sit through episode after episode of a show about people wandering through houses pointing at shadows and not actually finding anything.
Especially if I'm not going to believe anything they DO find because it is, after all, some tv show on the SciFi channel.

I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy it, I'm just saying I don't get it.

Well there there own non profit ghost hunting organization, there only involved with sci fi because SF saw it as a good opportunity to show the people what its like to be on real investigations, so sci fi bought the rights to the show.

and its good though cuz TAPS get all kinds of cameras and equipment for nearly nothing.

and il watch any episode, i can care less if they dont find much, i still enjoy watching the show.

Yeah that's basically how I feel.

And to the guy a couple posts above, if that's not what you're interested in then that's cool. They are a TV show, but like Ice Man said, this group is non-profit and doesn't charge a penny for their investigations.

Among the paranormal organization, they are regarded as one of the best and one of the most reputable. If, in 18 years of investigating, they have not been proven to have faked anything, that does go far in proving their credibility.

I never really got into this show. I found it boring.

I suppose that if you've seen some of the stuff they've caught, it would be more entertaining. For skeptics, they have found some stuff that is pretty hard to fake.

They've caught some bat**** crazy audio that makes you wonder. I do enjoy the show and catch it any anytime I can.

Nah, I will forever be a Ghostbuster. :word:
