Anyone else play City Of Heroes/Villains?

Ah well, it's no big deal. Thanks very much. I might just buy this game now just to test it out. It looks really fun.

 

There is ONE way to have have the option to switch between hood-up and hood-down mode, though (unless this has changed in the last year or two since I've played) you can't do it at first: Alternate Costumes!

Once you reach level....15, is it?...you can get your first of two Alternate Costumes, which can be anything from a simple modification of your character's costume, to a completely different costume. My character Captain Cricket, for example, had 2 Alternate costumes. The first was just a white T-shirt and jeans, which I used as his civilian "costume". I'd have my character run around in this "costume" whenever he wasn't fighting and then once it was time to fight, I'd run back into an alley or somewhere more out-of-sight and toggle his actual costume costume. Not necessary at all, but was fun for me and made it feel just that little bit more superhero-y. His second Alternate Costume was a black version of his suit, much like Spidey's black costume. I'd switch to that costume whenever the fights would get really tough, again just to get a little more into the whole role-playing fun of the game, even though the Alternate Costumes have absolutely no effect on your actual powers or anything (unless that has changed in the last 2 years).

So anyway, a person could create their character hoodless, and then once they get their first Alternate Costume, they could use that to have the costume look identical to their Primary one...but with a hood! So then he could toggle at any time between having that hood or not.


...crap...now I'm getting the urge to start playing the game again...

 

I know, right? I actually froze my account in mid-December. Now I want to start up again.

Pretty much sounds 100x better than CoH. I'm getting it for xbox asap.

 

I think I might get it on PC instead. Either way, it will be bought

 

My PC likely wouldn't be able to run it. Anyway, I've been planning to buy a 360.

 

After reading that piece of the article on the website, (in my opinion anyways) it already has CoH beat. I've always wanted a secret identity feature.

I am just waiting for the DC game to come out later this year. I don't see the need to spend $50 on a game that will be just tying me over till the DC Game comes out. The only PC games I will play is Age Of Conan and this DC game.

Got this game acouple weeks ago so far im loving it, Aerial-Avenger is my main heroes name and currently playing on the Freedom server if anyone here wants to team up.

Champions looks -amazing-. Sadly, I'm still stuck on CoH because with the port over to Mac I can actually play it on my macbook pro, which is what I drag along with me every where (i.e. school). I am seriously thinking about investing in a PC desktop though just for Champions. Looks freakin' amazing.

Bought a renewal for CoH three months back and haven't stopped playing since then >.>

Far be it from me that I should endorse sticking with a Mac, but can't you just buy Windows and some VMWare Fusion (or Parallels) instead of getting a whole PC?

 

I bought this game back in '07. My computer was terrible at the time and the game lagged a lot. I think I still have it somewhere not sure. Oh well, I'm looking forward to DC Universe Online. I came here to find a thread on it and can't. Guess it's too early to start one up?

Think I'll have to check out "Champions" though.

I dont like the cel shading of Champions but I am waiting for DC Online...
I am on Freedom and Protector...will be on tonite for Dbl XP weekend

 

I'm still unsure if I'll be making the switch to Champions. It's likely, since one of my best friends will most definitely get it due to it's 360 availability, however it all comes down to the game play and the powersets, and the ability to make my trademark character.

 

COH/COV is a dam great game, just through the almost limitless customization of both the look and the powers of your superhero. And the lvl 14+ skills are fun as hell, super jump, super speed, flight, teleportation.

You need to play this game, at least play the 14-day trial.
