'89 had TURTLE Power, Ooze had Ninja Rap, each Tv show has had an awesome tune that just won't stop.

Should this movie have one as well? Because I say hells yeah! Something like Turtle Power or a mega-mix of their previous theme songs would be best. What do you think?

I'm sure they will come up with something...

Regardless if it's this reboot or others to come, I would prefer they make their own theme.

Maybe the ringtone on the shell cell or Turtle-com is the old cartoon theme, but no reprisals, remixes, or remakes of "Ninja Rap" or "Turtle Power."

Yup, I want one bad. Even Shell Shock at the end of TMNT where Raph got me hyped.

"Skidilly beat bop we rock
Steady over kicks and snares
So what you scared for, unprepared for?
Tunnel rat schematics far from your average rapper's new era
We rockin' sewer caps"

Hoping dubstep is just for the trailers or used in the movie, and that there is indeed a theme song for the flick that uses some sort of hip-hop.

If we get anything as awesome as the 1990 soundtrack, I'd be thrilled. Not just the pop stuff, but the score as well. I wish like hell we could get John du Prez's actual score in a proper release. The bootlegs that have popped up have had varying degrees of success in filtering out the score, but I want the real thing dammit!

Is it bad I kinda like that song? I've always loved Juicy J. He's my avatar, actually.

It's only bad if you actually think it's a great song. :oldrazz:

That said, I don't hate it. I'm sure kids will get into it, which is what counts anyways.

"I got your back like a turtle shell"....
Haha yeah, wouldn't call this a master piece by any stretch of the imagination. But I do like that beat a lot, and I've always been a fan of Juicy's flow so I like how he sounds on it. The rest of the song I don't care for at all.

Love it personally. Sure some lyrics are cheesy but **** they're rapping about four ninja turtles. You kind of have to be cheesy. Second favorite in the movies after Gym Class' Shell Shock.

Funny how the last two TMNT movies have similarly named songs... Shell Shock and Shell Shocked!

Yeah when it was first posted here, I didn't click on it, because I thought it was Gym Class Heroes' jam. Glad I did since the very existence of this song was like, prophecy coming true for me.

"Edina [my wife] the only Turtle movie that's ever sucked is TMNT 3. It is also coincidentally the only one without a rap attached to it. I need it. I need it. It's confirmation that'll be good. And after Fast 6 if Wiz does it, then I'll be in heaven."

It is confirmed. Good movie is good.

Rampant cheese is a key ingredient to any ninja turtles song, and Shell Shocked is pretty delicious.

Though when it comes to the OST, the biggest question I have is what Shredder's Leif motif is going to sound like. The '89 movie had a really good intro with drums and guitar that let you know Shredder was here and he was going to kill the happiness, because he's OG like that.

*leitmotif

Not nitpicking, but a friendly correction. :)

I don't think people should be ashamed by having a preference in the art that speaks to them. But this is the internet and disclaimers are almost always necessary, even if something such as Juicy J are 'taboo'. If JayZ was booked we'd be seeing the equally opposite effect(which also wouldn't be productive imo). This happens with directors and brands and even music, a shame really. It's art, not science, people are inclined to like what they like, red vs blue.

Anyways, I think it's a catchy track by any consistent measure and serves it's purpose well enough.

Keeping within the tradition of Turtle Power and Ninja Rap, "Shell Shocked" is a perfect song for this movie in 2014.

I can't wait for the first person in my life to whine about it, when I know DAMN WELL they loved Turtle Power and Ninja Rap.

I love the "Shellshocked" song. Catchy beat; cheesy lyrics. All fun.

I actually like the song Shell Shocked and I downloaded it off iTunes the day it was released. The lyrics are super cheesey but it works for a turtles movie.
