I think it was a waste of re-introducing Felix Leiter.

They could've easily fixed it by having Leiter work with Bond on the op.

Don't forget Felix was black in "Never Say Never Again". I know, I know, it "doesn't count" but he has been black before. As long as he's in there I'm happy.

Anyway I thought Leiter was used perfectly in Casino Royale. His role could easily be expanded in the next movie. Leiter is usually used to keep the plot moving and cut through the red tape for Bond.

Felix' skin colour isn't imporatnt. He's a supporting characeter, what is important is Bond. If ever they did cast Diddy as Bond then you and the rest of the world have something to whine about.

As for Jeff's role, I thought it was enough. We didn't need much of him because the situation never presented itself. Remember this is an inexperienced Bond's journey we're going through, so the focus is on Bond at all times. Also, Craig needed much to do in order to prove his critics wrong by expanding his role and once again the focus on him.
Remember, there's a reason why Lord was only in Dr.No and that was because he was big and they didn't want him upstaging/over-shaddowing Sean.

Brosnan wanted Colin Salmon to suceed him, and I still think that after Daniel Craig is done with his run, Salmon would be a good replacement (Although his comments about EON being racist problably killed his chances...) What's important is that they stay true to the character. Bond is a British secret agent, and should stay that way. But he can be that AND be black. Just because he's black he doesn't have to be some dumb gangster (which would inevitably be how Diddy would play it if we lived in crazy world where they actually took his suggestion seriously) but Colin Salmon would probably be very good.

Seriously, it's just skin colour. A black bond can be every bit the refined British gentleman as the actors who came before him. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily saying that I WANT the next Bond to be black, I'm just saying that I wouldn't be bothered by it in the slightest, as long as they don't try to screw with the character and say that Bond grew up in Detroit or something. Nor am I trying to say that absolutely ANYONE can be Bond, there are still certain criteria that need to be met, but what's important is that Bond is British, not that he is white.

I'm a black guy and I'm telling you Bond will never be black and its best that way. Look at all the crap just by casting Craig, so what do you think will happen if they cast a black guy?? Casting a black guy to be Bond is unecessary and stupid imo. Last time I checked, Bond's mother was Swedish but even then, thats not the point, Bond is a white guy and It'll rightfully stay that way.

Your speaking from your own poit of view which I'm sure the rest of the world doesn't share. I dont think you understand the validity of Bond being a white guy. He's a character that you just dont change and besides, you cant compare Blond hair to black skin, they're 2 diferent extremes from 1 another.

Certainly there are characters in which skin colour does matter, for example; You couldn't have a white Shaft, or a Japanese Superman. I just don't feel that Bond is one of those, at least not in regards to a black man. But if you disagree then that's fine. I just don't like when people are so entirely against any sort of change that they'll complain endlessly about a Blonde Bond, Black Felix, or female M.

This actor, Idris Elba who plays on HBO's series THE WIRE, AND is BRITSISH would make an awesome Bond. If you've the show you know he has all the Bond qualitys, IF a black Bond is ever considered.....

I absolutely love the way Jeffry Wright handles himself, I mean it's not the debonair suave type that Bond portrays, it's the kind of american don't give a **** attitude, I hope we see more of him.
