I live in England and I've recently come into a bit of money. Thinking of doing a little traveling and Japan is pretty high on my list.

Anyone ever been? Whats it like over there? Will I need to adopt a bit of the language? Is it the right place to visit with a family?

Any personal accounts are greatly appreciatred.:oldrazz:

I've never been, but it's a place I have always wanted to visit

Locals in the smaller towns love it if you try and communicate in Japanese. They key phrases are easy to pronounce and remember...they're pretty much pronounced the way they are spelled, unlike some other Asian languages.

I don't know what the exchange rate for Yen is right now...but it used to average around 100 Y to maybe about 80 cents. So 8 bucks will get you around 1000 Y worth of stuff.

I've never been to the mainland (only Okinawa) so the info that I'm relaying to you is a combination of my friend's info and my experience in Okinawa.

Hope you have loads of fun.

You need to watch Adam and Joe Go Tokyo before you go haha

Ive always wanted to go one day i will :)

Definitely on my list as well. I just need to save up some more money.

I'd like to visit Japan. Great food, great scenery outside the mega cities, and very interesting history.

The game shows are ****ing bizarre.

I got to spend about 3 hours in the Norita airport on a layover on my way to Guam. Does that count?
