What was that all about?? Is this an else worlds or what???????? I was very confused........

agreed, joker. this Sucked. sucked all the fun out of this whole Year's worth of batman. this is the issue i finally admitted the joke's on Me for being dumb enough to keep Buying this bull**** every month. it's crap. let's admit it. we're batman junkies, so we wade Through this crap and suffer these poser 'superstar writers' like morrison and miller because once upon a time, they didn't suck like 3 dollar crack****es, so now we slog through their latest senile overpaid diahretic splatters (oh, how cute, miller has a dkr poster on bab's' wall before giving us the 15y/o crotch shot- how risque, what a commentary on our times- how Relevant! ooh, morrison goes back to arkham in a panelless issue that looks like a student level video game demo instead of hiring dave mckean while jerking his whole readership off for the better part of a year on a story that goes nowhere culminating in an issue 666 that got it's Ass kicked by batman issue 400 at it's own Game (praise be to stephen king and bill sienkewicz), how ummm, Cheap, amateurish and thoroughly embarrassing) waiting patiently for the next alan moore to come along and kick the crap outta these guys. this is the month i gave up on miller And morrison. like i said, i'll keep reading, cuz i'm a junkie, but Damn i look forward to the next writers on Both these titles. why not pay matt wagner enough to do a year run? he can write And draw like a mother****in Riot! hire tim burton to write a 6 issue run like donner on supes, or even jj abrams or frank spotnitz to give the dark knight detective a Real mystery, i don't Care, just get these clowns Outta here. really. this stinks something Rotten. quick question. who would Y'all rather see write batman's monthly? i nominate frank spotnitz from the x-files. who's Your choice?

I might be dropping Batman soon, especially with the next arc looking like something out of the damn silver age...at least All Star Batman is crazy and fun to read, and Detective Comics is a million times better than this title right now...sort of sad, I've been reading every issue of it since Hush started...the last issue of this title I've liked was 663 with the Joker...since then it's been getting progressively worse...

don't feel bad- i've been reading it pretty much monthly for about 25yrs and for the first time in Well over a decade, i'm seriously considering finding another hobby. as it is, i wait a month every month to be insulted and disappointed. i get more pleasure out of reading terry pratchett, kurt vonnegut, and neal stevenson, all of whom actually care about their audience enough to deliver. in comics at least there's Eric Powell, and he doesn't put out crap. asbar may be fun, but it's fun like watching a cripple fall down a flight of stairs; lee's on his game in a big way having fun, but miller has no excuses since the hernandez brothers never sold out, alan moore never sold out, wagner handed off Grendel when he ran low on ideas, and gaiman walked away rather than stick around and let the sandman suck. of all those 80s revolutionaries, frank miller's the biggest (and to my knowledge Only) sellout of all of them. he's officially made my todd mcfarlane list. as in 'guy i'll invite outside for an ass whipping if i ever meet him (mcfarlane backed down from that offer, for the record, which is hilarious considering how steroidal he was and how young i was). i know i'm griping, but i just can't remember the last time i felt so insulted for so long by comics. feel like portishead over here...'gimme a reason...'. joker, don't worry, chances are i'll Get to kick morrison's ass someday (right after i hock a lungchunk in his face and call him a poser alan moore wanna be) and i'll give him a nice swift kick to the kidneys for you when i do. being insulted's one thing; Paying to be insulted every month is quite another. let this punk meet his public and he'll Learn about insults. do you know Anybody who's honestly happy with morrison's run on this book?

oh, and while we're at it, will somebody Please Fire Dan Didiot? Bring Denny O'Neill back for god's sake. this walmart management style doesn't work for comics. FIRE DAN DIDIO! FIRE DAN DIDIO! FIRE DAN DIDIO! really. Lose these losers and get a real staff, DC. i don't Want to make mine marvel, but i Will if DC keeps sucking this hard. screw it; i'm gonna skip next month and just buy moore's run on swamp thing. DC gets some cash and i don't get some sold out hollywood hack responsible for bringing us robocop 2 trying to relive his batman glorydays, or some preening british nanny pulling the big 'nudge nudge, wink wink' on us yanks. it's called a Plot, dumbass. put one in a story sometime. same goes double for you, frank. especially since we know you Used to know how to write. quit for 3yrs. go do hollywood. get it out of your system before returning to comics. or hell, just retire. do us All a favor if you can't do any better than this. sorry, morrison only ever wrote one decent bats book that's remembered more for it's art. he's not a real writer. miller Was. i can't get Quite as mad at morrison, since he's hopelessly untalented as a wordsmith; well, not a wordsmith, man writes a lotta big fancy words, i guess i should say he's a hopelessly untalented Plot-smith. rrrg. enough.

Jesus. What the hell actually happened in the book?:wow:

SPOILERS

It all takes place in the future, Bruce is dead, and the antichrist Batman has been killing Damian (who is now Batman)'s new rogues off to make a pentagram, Damian kills him, and then reveals HE was actually the anti-christ Batman all along, as he sold his soul to the devil when he became Batman to save Gotham (until he wants to destroy it anyway)...so essentially, it was all out of continuity, and nothing that anyone cares about happened.

So that's what you got fromthis story?? Thanks for clearing that up.

joker must be a Model of clarity, b/c reading your rundown of what happened actually made more sense to me than the issue did after reading it twice. all I got out of it was 'this is Badly written garbage; throw it till it bounces'. maybe they should hire You to write the book, since at least you can make a point and tell what happened, beginning, middle, and end. morrison, take notice.

i've been loving morrison's run, and i thought this last issue was a lot of fun.

I haven't been too thrilled by Morrison's run, and one reason for that is because I hate Damien. I hate the idea of Batman having a kid, even an evil one.

But what bugged me the most about this issue is that it did absolutely nothing to resolve anything that happend in 664 and 665. Black casebook? The Bane-looking cop who kicked Bats in the head? Nope, nothing, and now it's time for the Batmen of All Nations.

It blows my mind to actually say this, but I think the best Batman book this month was Confidential.

I'm pretty sure he took Bane-Batman down last issue.

If, you know, you had READ it.

Why do people find the need to do that...just write a generic Batman VS Villain story if you can't come up with some anything good...

The dark apocolypse future stuff has been done to death. I'd been more interested if Bruce sold his soul out of fanaticism...it would've made a more interesting WHAT IF than this drek. :whatever:

It was a decent enough story, and the art work was superb as always. I also think that it's part of the new multiverse, but I hope that DC will start putting an "Elseworlds" type tag on the issues.

And just what's wrong with Batman having a kid. He's had a kid since 1940 with Robin. And legally, Dick Grayson and Tim Drake are his sons. The only difference is that Damien is a biological one.

Umm....they've already shown two of the three "Batmen" and he defeated the Bane/Batman hybrid in 665.

And I'm excited for the Batmen of All Nations arc. This arc sounds like something that Morrison came up with when he was superstoned on LSD or some s**t.

Hell, the reason why his Batman run isn't as good as his other stuff is because it's pretty damn obvious that he wasn't high enough. It seems like the only time he was high so far was the creation of the ninja man-bats.

It blows my mind to actually say this, but I think the best Batman book this month was Confidential.

If you read it twice and didn't figure that much out, you have serious issues with reading comprehension. Story was pretty basic.

That said, I was disappointed, but hey, obviously they're setting something up here with a potential, apocalyptic future if Batman doesn't deal with the "Antichrist Batman" properly. Not the most inventive twist in the world, but it could be decent. I just don't like how the title's jumping around, stick with the story arc until it's played out already.

yeah, it seems like Morrison has ADHD or something with this title...3 Batmen into Damian into a Joker one shot back to the 3 batmen into the future to the club of superheroes back to Damian...

I just think that an unplanned kid goes against a lot of what Batman is about. I just don't think a guy whose purpose in life calls for him to be ready for anything would put himself in a situation where Talia could pull the goalie on him.

But hey, it's just my opinion. And I'm not trying to convince anybody to not like the book. In fact, I liked parts of them myself. I just wanted a little more resolution to certain things. For example: I know Batman took down the Bane-looking cop but I wanted to know a little bit more about where he came from. Same with the other two 'ghosts'. And I hope that Jezebel ties into something somehow down the road. Maybe the Ra's storyline coming up could be where everything fits together.
