My mother has like 100 records from the 70s and 80s, mostly R&B and Jazz stuff like Grover Washington, Earth, Wind & Fire, and George Benson. We haven't had a record player in 15 years and I want to get rid of some of this stuff. Should I sell them? Keep them? Donate?

What should I do with them?

Yeah, and I also still use a hand operated butter churn.

Ah...

I'll give you 15 bucks for them, but you gotta throw in a record player. I am not joking either.

i still use a record player. it was my dad's from the 70's, still sounds fantastic. there has yet to be an audio format thats superior to vinyl. it's how music should be heard (other than live).

Record player? LAME! I play my music on an 8 track. Tell you mom to get with the times. No one plays records anyone.

I'm gunna throw some records on Ebay and see if anyone bites. If they don't seem to be getting much attention, then I'll find...a much better place for them..

I still use a record player and it rocks. Def a great way to listen to music.

I still have quite a few crates of records. Mostly 80s, 90s hip hop, freestyle, break records and party joints. Since I stopped DJing they just sit and gather dust. I've been thinking about buying a USB equipped turntable just to be able to transfer them all to my computer.

Bet you have an iPod though...can you explain how that works?

I just bought a new one a few months ago. I have a bunch of records. I think they sound better then CD's for some reason.

end of story. but if its crap jazz and r&b and disco, you might as well use them to throw at zombies.

bah, when I was kid we had a record player that came part of a furniture set I think, but we never used it.

My parents have a crazy large vinyl collection of soul, R&B and funk and my bigger brother was DJing back in the day so he has a lot of Hip Hop from the 80s/90s on that.

Some times its cool to keep ahold of them mint copies...
