Apatow's Anti High School Music Movie

[The Apatow Crew]

Judd Apatow is planning a musical described as an "anti-HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" and has discovered a relative unknown to write, perform the music and star. Apatow has signed a deal with Bo Burnham, a web-based songwriter/comedian after seeing Burnham perform at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. While Hollywood might be new to Burnham, he's got quite the following online with over 3 million views for his latest video (which you can also see below). His YouTube channel is also one of the most subscribed to of all time and his comedy iTunes right below Coldplay. Burnham, who just turned 18 this August, will co-write the film with his buddy Luke Liacos. Burnham, who has been performing stand-up in New City this summer, is currently attending NYU's Tisch School of theThe project may take some time to develop as Burnham hasn't even begun working on the script or songs just yet.

The reason everyone's sick of spoofs is because uncreative, unfunny, borderline plagiarism like "Date Movie," "Epic Movie," "Met The Spartans," and "Disaster Movie" have actually forced the memory of films like "The Meaning of Life," "Young Frankestein," "Spaceballs," "Airplane," and "The Life of Brian" out of people's heads.

i cant believe more people arent talking about the involvement of Bo Burnham. that suprised the hell outta me. he's like 17 and working on a hollywood movie based off his talent on youtube. the kids hilarious, but still, its kinda surprising.

This is the first time I'm rrally hearing of this Bo guy. Isee tht he's 18 now and does Youtube stuff and he's also a comedian on tour alot.

But it said he got found at a Comedy Club, but i'm sure youtube had a big part in his findind.

I am interested in seeing if any of the Apatow Regulars can sing. If not, He may have to resort to the older crop of Apatow Regulars (Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Adam Sandler).

Let's not forget that Apatow produced Step Brothers, Talladega Nights and Anchorman and wrote Zohan, which was Sandler's last movie.

The only one of the regulars who looks old enough to be a parent is Bill Hader. Well, Paul Rudd as well. Although, Seth Rogen looks like he's in his mid 30's (even though he's only 26).
