Screenname of the Proposed RPG’s Game Master:
Lord Doom
Do You Have An Instant Messenger that we can reach you on for better conversation? (i.e MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ect.) And if so, what is your screenname?:
No
Gamemasters/Assistant Gamemasters already chosen:
The Question, JinnSato, and possibly someone else.
How will the overall layout of the RPG be?:
This RPG will be user-controlled. The players help create the universe.
Premise of RPG, if it is a user created RPG see below for applicable additions to this Applicaton, (Must be a paragraph or longer).
This RPG (Beyond:The RPG of Tomorrow) will allow players to create not only their own characters, but their own races, classes, factions, even planets! The basic premise of this game is that it takes place in the year 9977 A.W. (A.W. meaning "After War"). Since the game takes place in the future, the possibilities for character creation are nearly LIMITLESS! Pretty much anything is possible. The universe is infinite, so everyone can add new worlds and galaxies (with the GMs or the AGMs permission, of course). This universe belongs to the players, and I expect them to use it in fun and creative ways.
What will this RPG bring to the RPG forums? (please write two complete sentences):
The question isn't really what this game WILL bring to the RPG forums, it's what WON'T it bring. The universe is vast and limitless, so players are free to create as many planets and races as their hearts desire.

(NOTE: A separate application will be needed for planet creation, but this will be added later)

Welcome to the application of the epic new RPG, Beyond: The RPG of Tomorrow. In this game, an entire universe is (quite literally) at your fingertips. I have given the role-players of the Hype an entire universe, which is theirs to command.

We should probably have come up with some races and classes before making the app.

We did but there was just so much crap to it all that we thought it would be easier to wait until the OOC thread was up.

Plus, we're going to change the Character App. befor it's over with.

Well, we're not going to change the character app, but we are going to add a list of races, classes, and factions to choose from. As matter of fact, I'm going to do that in just a few.:cwink:

I'm so genuinely excited about this, I got a tingly feeling in my stomach when I thought about finally applying for a character.
Onwards!

Are ya sure it wasn't a tingaly sensation in your penis??
JK
But I can't wait I already know what my characters are gonna be.

Also for those of you who want to know. The wepons Earth is now cabable of is a mix between Firearms and Lasers.

Well, I'm just gonna ignore the fact that you said something about another man's penis, cuz my mind just can't process THAT right now. Anyway, about the firearms: WHoever wants to use lasers should be able to use them if that's what they prefer. HOWEVER, humans only use bullets and whatnot. Kinda like in Firefly (one of the greatest TV shows ever).

Okay, folks, here are the playable races we'll have at the start of the game. Part One:

Aerians: Aerians are a curious, music-loving race who are identical to humans in appearance (however, their vocal chords are stronger than a normal human's). They live on the planet Gibson 7 which is also very similar to Earth. They have strange weapons that double as instruments (in fact, they take the shape and appearance of Earth instruments). No one really understands the Aerians' obsession with Earth music, but it is rumored that the instruments ton Earth were originally created by the Aerians.
Stats: Aerians have basically the same stats as humans, except Aerians are slightly faster and more agile than humans. Some even have superhuman vocal chords that cause massive ammounts of destruction.

Setzers: Setzers are a race of humanoid beings with pale skin and cool purple eyes (the iris, not the entire eye). They also all have jett-black hair and are very slender in appearance. The Setzers also do not have a specified name for their planet, but simply refer to it as "Home" or "Headquarters", however, the Universal Alliance refers to their planet as Syntek6. Setzers have powerful mental abilities and can create strong psionic weapons with their minds. They are led by Prince Xemnas, but do not necessarily follow his every order. The Setzers have vowed to protect the universe from evil and tyranny, and they take themselves quite seriously.
Stats: Telepathy (All Setzers have strong telepathic abilities which are used for long-range comminication, as well as communication with unknown races), Psionics (Setzers can create powerful psionic weapons with their minds), Telekenesis (Setzers have the amazing ability to move and manipulate objects with their minds)
[NOTE: The attributes listed above are for basic Setzers. Different Setzers create and specialize in their own unique ways of the mind]
Strength: Slightly less than human.
Speed/Reaction time: Speed is the same as human, however, their reaction time is greater as they have trained to focus their minds to peak perfection.
Durability/Endurance: Slightly less than human
Agility: Slightly greater than human due to their lithe bodies.

The Hume(Tera 1) They look exactly like humans except for their Hazel eyes. The are much more advanced than Humans on Earth are. They have a strong sence of justice and belive that good will eventually trumph over evil. Their greatest technological achievement is their teleportation technology. All they have to do is go into the chamber and say where they want to go. And they appear there. They use this technology to go to distant planets and try to stop conflicts like war in a peacful manner. But this does not mean they won't fight if they have too. They also use their technology to see impending doom that will occur on other planets and go warn them.
Their attributes are the same as humans but they are much smarter.

Ravagers: While their planet and race's name is unknown, what IS known about these monsters is that they use to be a scientific race until a virus that they created threw their planet into chaos(This happened a few hundred years ago.). The people who were infected are overcome with hunger for organic flesh, however they still retain their intelligence . After depleating their food supply on their planet, they discovered that they still can die of hunger. After their numbers began do dwindle, they created a ship large enough to hold all of them. They have been searching the universe for planets with life to sustain their hunger for over fifty years. To date, four planets have been desrtoyed because of this plauge. They also infect people by biting them, and are lead by their unrelenting hunger. Word about this incident has not reached our galaxy.
Strength:Much stronger than humans. Able to lift one ton.
Speed/Reaction time:Much slower than humans.
Durability/Endurance:Almost infinite. They do not feel pain or show emotion and never tire. All they feel is the hunger that overwhelms them.
Agility:Much slower than humans.

Kazarians: Kazarians are a race of cat-like people who live on the jungle world of Kazar. They do not use guns, but will use primitive weapons such as spears, staves, and daggers, however, they prefer hand-to-hand combat, and are trained from birth to fight. They aren't really a war-mongering race, but they do fight amongst each other at times. Kazarians are an honorable and noble race who basically wish to be left alone. They worship their various gods (Halln, god of war; Kearn god of wisdom; Delisle, goddess of love; and Sheree, goddess of death) and dwell in large tree cities. Their space-craft resemble large, stone temples.
Stats: Hand-to-Hand expertise, Animal Empathy (can communicate with and influence various creatures throughout the universe) Omni-linguistic (capable of learning and speaking any language upon hearing it. This was a gift from their gods), Sharp claws which are used as tools or weapons.
Strength: Capable of lifting 5 tons.
Speed/Reaction time: Above human. Can run at speeds of 95 MPH
Endurance/Durability: Slightly greater than human.
Agility: Much greater than human.

Varnor: Incredibly evil beings who take great pleasure in killing and torturing other races. They only wish to conquer and will desrtoy anything that gets in their way (including each other), and are considered by many to be the greatest evil in the universe. Their planet, Varn, is covered in a black, poisonous fog that kills anything not native to Varn. The Varn are a phantom-like race who can only influence things physically by "possessing" inanimate objects. They can also poison others and cause them harm using telepathy.
Stats: Possession (can place themselves into inanimate objects and influence the object's monement), Poison touch (poisons anyone foolish enough to touch them. This is due to their exposure to their deadly atmosphere), Telepathy (The Varnor have strong telepathic abilities which they use to communicate long ditances and inflict harm on their enemies).
Strength: Slightly less than human.
Speed/Reaction: Greater than human. The Varnor have quick movements, but do not run, rather, they fly where they need to go (unless they have possessed something that requires them to walk/run)
Endurance/Durability: The Varnor can go endless periods of time performing physical labor, however, they have slightly less durability than humans (unless they have possessed something more durable than a human)
Agility: Much greater than human.

Robots: The blanket term for artificial life forms created for a variaty of tasks. Due to several programing flukes that are still unexplained, there is a substantial minority of robots who are self aware. The only independant Robitic government is "Haven," a colony founded 100 years ago. However, the Universal Alliance does not recognise their independence. As their physical abilities are based on their design and model, Robots have no basic stats.

Neogi: A race of warriors who've conquered their entire galaxy, the Neogi are humanoid in appearance, save for their black eyes and needlepoint teeth. The Neogi are an emotion driven people and view those who try to hide their emotions as cowards or worse.

The Neogi live for battle, believing conflict brings out the truth hidden inside one's being. They have garnered a reputation for being viciously cunning soldiers who do not heed their own safety in a fight. A death in battle, especially a sacrifice that achieves victory, is the most glorious way for a Neogi soldier to die.

The Neogi Empire is separated into specific castes: Soldiers, Priests, Workers, Overlords, and the Supreme Overlord.

Soldiers are the majority group of the Empire and are comprised completely of males. Soldiers are given rank much as they are in Earthly militaries, with the top generals gaining the title of Supremor. They are some of the finest military minds in all the Empire and the ones who devise war strategies, lead the Neogi armies into battle.

The females are not allowed in the military by ancient law, but they play a more politically important role as they make up nearly 99% of the priest faction. The Neogi people are a highly religious lot and follow a small pantheon of deities who gave to them their edict: Life begins in pain, and ends in pain. In order for one to truly be alive, they must cast aside all fear and embrace the pain of life. As such, the Neogi have a number or rituals in which they inflict scars upon themselves, while showing no pain, to glorify their gods. Soldiers follow this edict more than any other caste.

Workers are comprised of two groups: the unlucky ones who are deemed unfit for soldiering or priestly work and captured slaves. The latter making up the majority of this caste with the former taking a more leadership role in the group's heirarchy.

Overlords are another more political caste, and are the regional governors of the Neogi Empire. They hold the same status of power as do the Supremors, and are answerable only to the Supreme Overlord himself.

The Supreme Overlord is the emperor of the Neogi Empire and is the only being in all the empire with supreme power in both the military and political factions. The Supreme Overlord spends most of his time dealing with affairs of state and military matters, common things to one in such a position. He is seen as the face of the empire and a direct link to the gods. Only the males can claim rights to the throne of the Neogi Empire.
(stats coming soon)

Jovians: Human colonists on Jupiter, genetically altered to be able to survive it it's environment. Centuries ago they broke away from the Earth and formed their own government. Posess vast strength and are capable of self propelled flight via a super conductive nervous system (which also gives them lightning fast reflexes and reaction time, as well as a degree of enhanced inteligence). Their government is similar to the Roman Republic, and their culture places heavy emphasis on the military.
Stats: Flight (capable of manipulating the electro-magnetic fields around their body to levitate and fly); Mental Speed (enhanced nervous system alows them the reaction time, reflexes, and thinking speed of a living super computer); Gas resistence (capable of breathing several gases that would kill a human, including hydrogen and helium, as well as surving in oxygen environments
Strength: Capable of lifting 50 tons on average
Speed/Reaction Time: Can run at 220 MPH, and can fly at up to 500 MPH. Reaction
Endurance/Durability: Much sturdier than humans, able to work for almost a day without tiring and withstanding over 50 tons of pressure on their bodies.
Agility: Less agile than a human

The SHCREEEEEEE: A race of shapeshifters, who's bodies are made up of a have mind of single celled organisms. Their planet is under a military dictatorship, and any intelectual, artistic, or spiritual persuits that do not directly aid the SHCREEEEEEE war machine are frowned upon. Being shapeshifters, they're capable of adapting to most situations, be it going under water, or flying through the air. They absorb nutrients through a form of photosynthesis, and are capable of surviving in the vaccume of space. However, as they need to absorb certain gases to remain healthy, they go into an inert state when in a vaccume.
Stats: Shape Shifting (able to alter their physical shape and density for a variety of effects, including wings for flight, bladed weapons, enhanced strength, aquatic travel, etc.); Cell adaptation (the cells of their body are very much like stem cells, and as such can alter themselelves for a variety of functions. This allows them several cellular based abilities, like the generation of electricity or the secreation of venom); They can survive in the vaccume of space indefinately, but because of the lack of oxygen, they slip into a catatonic state in the process.

Nuh: A race of bi-pedal creatures with vaguely reptilian and avian characteristics. They're planet was wiped out, with only 26 survivors, who are now scatters all over the universe. They're slightly stronger and faster than humans, and have retractible claw/blades made of bone that come out of their forearms.
Stats: Infra Red Vision (able to see the infra red spectrum of light, allowing then a degree of night vision); Bone claws (retractible blades that are apart of their skelital structure that retract into the forearm); Tail whip (their tail can be used as deadly weapons, with the proper training)Strength: Same as a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Same as a human
Agility: More agile than a human

The ....: A race of creatures who have gained the ability to manipulate reality itself, to a limited degree. This made them especially adept at mysticism, and as such are the most powerful mystics in the universe. As they believe heavily in subjectivity and individuality, no one member of their race looks the same, and they have no common name. Only their individually chosen names, and whatever other speicese refer to them as a whole. Going to their homeworld is like having a bad acid trip.
Stats: Reality Alteration (able to manipulate the very fabric of time and space. However, the bigger the change made, the more dificult it is, as they require a great deal of concentration. Magic is used to aid their powers, but even it has it's limits. The more .... there are around, the easier it is for them to use their powers); Arcane Knowledge (possess a great deal of knowledge in regards to magick and mystical practices all across the univers, as well as the mythologies that come with them. However, individuals tend to focus on certain orders and mythologies, or even make up their own)

Race # 1,768,328,874,429: The sister race to The ..... Unlike their cousins, they applied their abilities to science, and as such have become the greatest resource of technology in the universe. Their super science has made them just as formidable as The ...., and has made them very wealthy. Their world resembles a 30s sci-fi movie, and their bodies are very plain and practicle. Physically, they are nigh immortal, but not well suited for combat.
Stats: Probability Manipulation (like their sister race, they can manipulate reality, but ther skill in it only goes so far as increasing or decreasing the likelyhood of certain events); Super Science (over the years, they have used their reality warping powers to increase their inteligence, as well as increase the potency of their technology and make certain, highly unlikely discoveries happen. Their world is a technological utopia, and their science rivals the ....'s magick); Immortality (over the years, they have crafted for themselves perfect bodies, and are as such immune to every cause of death they could think of. However, as intelectuals, they are still physically frail and poor fighters)
Strength: Weaker than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Less durable than a human
Agility: Slightly more agile than a human

Bloo Ha: Highly inteligent aquatic creatures native to the planet Neptune. Close allies of the humans, as they were the first alien life forms they came into contact with. Their bodies are adapted solely for ocean live, and the only humanout characteristics they have are their opposable thumbs. They require specialized suits to breath and walk on land.
Stats: Aquatic Adaptations (capable of breathing under water and swimming at high speeds); Echo Location (can communicate with each other and other sea life); Poison (can produce poisonous quills)
Strength: Less than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Less than a human (on land) Capable of swimming at 50 MPH
Endurance/Durability: Less than a human
Agility: Less than a human (on land)

Bloo Ha Tan: While considered a sister race to the Bloo Ha, they are in fact a completely different speicese. They live at the bottom of the ocean, are massive in size, have completely armor covered bodies, and are very, very strong. Unlike the Bloo Ha, they have legs, and are vaguely Crustacian like in appearance. However, they don't have hands that are any good for using complex tools, and require the Bloo Ha to build their machines. They have special pressurization chambers that allow them to go to the surface very quickly.
Stats: Body Armor (covered in an exoskeliton that can cussion the blow of a grenade); Razor Touch (have four arms, each set with deadly talon/claws)
Strength: Able to lift 10 tons on average
Speed/Reaction Time: able to run up to 30 MPH on land
Endurance/Durability: Much more than a human
Agility: Less agile than a human

Spri: Gasious beings who live on the surface of a star. They're highly corosive, and must be inside robotic containment suits to interact with others.
Stats: Deadly touch (being made of corrosive gases, their touch is lethal to most organics); Glyding (can ride air currents)

Manorians: Creatures from a planet covered in clouds so think that absolutely no light gets through. They are blind, but also, interestingly, completely invisible. Because of this, those who leave their homeworld often become spies, assassins, and theives.
Stats: Perfect silence (being from a sightless world, they have mastered the art of moving without a sound); Invisibility (all visible light passes through their bodies, making them invisible.); Enhanced senses (to compensate for their lack of sight, their sense of hearing, tast, and smell are vastly superior to that of a human's)
Strength: Same as a human
Speed/Reaction Time: same as a human
Endurance/Durability: Same as a human
Agility: Same as a human

Junkfolk: A race of technological, organic, and techno-organic life forms who live on a planet that, for millenia, had been used as a junkyard for the galaxy.
Stats: Mechanical aptitude (are highly skilled in the manipulation of mechanical devices); Cyber Empathy (can interface with copmuters and artificial life forms)
Strength: Much stronger than a human (able to lift up to 4 tons)
Speed/Reaction Time: Same as a human
Endurance/Durability: Much greater than a human
Agility: Less than a human

That is massive. I am completely speechless. I've decided what race I'll be playing as already, too.

I have one question though. Is there one type of currency in this galaxy, and if so what is it called?

Well, most cultures have their own currecny. But the official currency of the Universal Alliance is the Guntai, thin plastic bills with the picture of the current UA chairman on them.

Okay, understood.
Two more questions, kind of.
The Jovians; Am I right in thinking they can levitate/fly on any planet?
And lastly, is it okay to begin the game on a planet that isn't your character's homeplanet?

The Jovians; Am I right in thinking they can levitate/fly on any planet?

Yes.

And lastly, is it okay to begin the game on a planet that isn't your character's homeplanet?

Yes. But I warn you: The UA has a law stating that all life forms going to a planet with signifigantly less gravity than their homeworld must register with local authorities (because they essentially become living weapons) and local hospitals (in the event of medical complications due to the gravity shift).

Got it, thanks for answering.
And I must say, I am insanely impressed by all of this.

Hmm. Now you've caught my intrest. What's the deal with space crime in the universe? Would smuggling be a major crime in the UA's eyes? I ask cause a Junkfolk smuggler is really appealing to me.

Hmm. Now you've caught my intrest. What's the deal with space crime in the universe? Would smuggling be a major crime in the UA's eyes? I ask cause a Junkfolk smuggler is really appealing to me.

Organized crime exists in the universe, yes. Mobster (which would include mod boss, arms dealer, drug dealer, and smuggler) is one of the classes we're working on.

Oh, and here are the Neogi Stats: None, though Neogi use highly advanced technology, and their weapon tech is arguably the best there is. One of the main pieces of Neogi technology is the full body battlesuits their soldiers wear (think Madalorian armor). These suits vary depending on rank with the suits of higher ranking individuals having more functions.

Standard Battlesuit: contains a self-sustaining environment, allowing the wearer to survive in space, underwater, and other extreme conditions; Wrist blasters can loose a myriad of different attacks (flame-thrower, plasma cannon, powerful stun ray, electrical blasts, cold beam, force blasts akin to a telekinetic attack); helmet houses many functions (visor allowing sight in many spectrums from heat to nightvision, and from micro-scopic vision to telescopic and x-ray vision, as well as data analysis of targets; transmitter able to pick up signals from around a globe; high-tech breath filters that prevent breathing of any poisonous or unfit air; contains psychic dampeners that aid in repelling mental attacks); armor is naturally sturdy being made out of the metal Zandium (extremely durable substance that is amazingly resistant to conventional attack as well as extreme environmental conditions; light in weight)

The Tanar'ri: Melee weapon of Neogi soldiers. Has a bit of divine history to it as it is said that the war god, Shimmra, created the first one from the bones of the old gods after slaying them: collapsable staff used for hand to hand combat and powered with destructive energy designed to cause extreme pain on contact by disrupting the target's neurons, cetralizing where staff connects with the target.

Shinzon Disruptor: Named after a famous historical Supremor, this is the standard blaster rifle of Neogi troops; Durable, light in weight semi-automatic rifle that fires bursts of plasma rounds with a range of 500 meters. Plasma cells that connect to butt of rifle hold 50 shots before being needed to be replaced.

Although not a power, Neogi soldiers are trained from a young age in the arts of unarmed, weaponed, and ranged weapon combat.

Strength: Same as a man
Speed/Reaction Time: Same as a man
Endurance/Durability: Much more durable than a man (Neogi are taught from birth to endure pain and can take extreme punishment)
Agility: Same as a man

I'm currently 99% decided on a Jovian (assassin/bounty hunter), and you wrote that their culture is very military-oriented.
What type of weaponry do they have? Laser-based or less/more advanced?

I'm currently 99% decided on a Jovian (assassin/bounty hunter), and you wrote that their culture is very military-oriented.
What type of weaponry do they have? Laser-based or less/more advanced?

They have long range weapons like laser cannons and guns, but all soldiers are trained in mele combat, and some prefer it.

Now, the classes:

Soldier: A brave warrior fighting for their homeland. They can serve their home governments, or the UA's military forces. Highly skilled in hand to hand combat and the use of weapons. Can also be a mercenary.

Spy: A master of stealth who uses his or her skills to gather information. May work for the government, the police, organized crime, or be a free agent.

Lawman: Sworn to protect and serve. Could be local law enforcement, an government agent, or an operative of the UA. Good shot, decent fighterm but above all, a great detective.

Mobster: A member of one of the universe's many crime syndicates. You could be a human selling cleaning products as drugs to Aerians, a rogue Neogi working as a hitman. Regardless, you work well in groups, and are very very good at killing things in spectacular ways.

Assassin: You kill people for money. Simple as that. You may work for the feds, or may be freelance. regardless, you're the best at what you do, and what you isn't very nice.

Bounty Hunter: Similar to an Assassin, but your supposed to bring them in alive.

Politician: You may be a prince in a feudal system, or a deligate in the UA. Regardless, you have power, and you're not afraid to use it.

Priest: Your job is to bring comfort, wisdom, and the word of God (or Gods) to the people. You may or may not be a great fighter, but you're highly inteligent. And you don't always have to be nice.

Thief: You live by taking what ain't yours, and you're damn good at it.

Grifter: You never steal. You simply convince people to give you things. By lying. Alot.

Scientist: You're well versed in one or several scientific fields, be they robotics or genetics. However, unless you're of a race stated as having enhanced intelligence, you're allowed three fields to be very well versed in at most.

Mystic: You commune with the spirits, dance with the gods, and can divine the future.

Smuggler: You get things where they need to be, even if it's less than legal. Usually an exceptional pilot and decent fighter.

Citizen: The average joe on the street. For now.

Vagabond: Your home is the open road. Through either wanderlust or necessity, you travel the stars, seeing all there is to see. You survive on your wits, your fists, and any skills you may possess.

Next up are the factions. I'm really pumped about this whole thing.

I know one can't really mix two classes, but would I get away with having my character be both an Assassin and a Bounty Hunter, depending on what he's getting paid to do (Killing them or bringing them in alive.)
