Are TAG and AXE body spray commercials sexist?

They're really not misogynistic at all. They're played for humor, and anyone buying it expecting to mind control hot girls into having sex with them is a moron and should be sterilized.

No more sexist than that commercial where the wife says, "The Swiffer's so simple, even my husband can use it!" Meanwhile in the background you see the guy tangled up in the venetian blinds. Seriously, how the hell could you get tangled up in venetian blinds?

:csad: it doesn't work. It just makes you smell funny.

yes, they make it look like girls can be swayed to give themselves to any guy who smells good,it also makes them look mindless.on the other end you dont really hear girls talk on those commercials and there the reason the guys put the stuff on,there objectified to an extreme, like metal shards to a magnet BUT this isnt anything new.

The guys don't talk either.:o

your right but there the main characters and them not talking points out that they dont have to do anything but spray axe or tag on themselves and all girls,no matter what will flock to them.

That sounds about right.

I take classes part time in the evenings, and one of them is sociology, and someone started the debate that those commericals are misogynistic, and a whole gender war erupted. It was quite fun.

They're not misogynistic, but they're sexist in a humorous way.

I've seen it happen. And then my friend tried to get me out. But she got tangled too. Then finally firefighters came and it was an eight hour ordeal.

Of course.Women are shown as pieces of meat for entertainment and to enpower young boys.

I use TAG. I love the effects it has on my sex life. I must have a broken can though, as when I push the button on mine I don't hear that orgasm sound effect. :(

And men are shown as either slobs or idiots that women are above intellectually; Or they are good looking piece of meat a**holes that abuse women and then get what's coming to them for entertainment.

yeah well axe is good, but it doesnt have the same effect as sex panther....60% of the time...it works...everytime...ohh yeah

They may very well be sexist, but so far I have not met a single woman who found the scent arousing.

It's a commercial! Who cares if it is sexist or not? If people who are against it go boycott it! Complain actively so you can be shot by a riot control or just find purpose in your life despite it being just sitting on a forum or boycotting deodorant! Or you could just not complain about it and be apathetic to the world!:o
i'm so lonely, can someone send me a pizza that spells out happy birthday Jakob?:oldrazz:

being a woman i don't find them particularly offensive.
as a matter of fact, i find them entertaining.
especially since every girl i know who has dated or been hit on by guys that wear Axe body spray says they think it stinks and it gives them a headache.

HAHHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't find them that offesive. Then again, I don't watch TV all that much and my wife and I shower together and wash with sand soap and tea tree oil, so I can't really say anything. I have, on odd occasions, had the misfortune to come across a guy wearing bodyspray, and I hate it. I like to know what a guy smells like.

I don't really see how anyone can see them as sexist. They're trying to make guys think that if they buy these products they'll be mobbed by hotties.

It's kind of the basic premise of advertising, isn't it?

Axe smells like someone **** all over you...honestly, what girl would be attracted to that?
